It's an even trade. What you lose in flexibility you gain in eased stress. No, you can't run 750 miles and make it 710 on paper. But you're not going to get asked for your logs anymore either (and even if you do, they'll be legal...if you follow the rules anyway).

It seems like our load planning dept is beginning to understand how to organize the freight so that they can get us more miles with fewer headaches. Seems, I say. There are still plenty of dissatisfied drivers.

I just got a new 387 with a TriPac and the A/C feature seems to have 2 settings....."Off" & "Freakin' Polar". If I'm in the bunk with the curtains drawn, it doesn't matter what I set the thermostat for.......I can't put enough blankets on...brrrrrrrrr

Do you need recent experience to get hired on there. I have 5 years, but I have been of the road since 03

Take that up with Road Service. Mine had the same problem. In the rush to get them out the door, some of the thermostats weren't hooked up properly. I had my issue with the heater. It totally ignored temp settings and went on full bake. Then I used the A/C and it was stuck on full freezer, and I went, "Well, it's not just heater, must be the thermostat."

    Sure enough.

    It's about a 20 minute fix.

    Reverend Falstaff Thanks this.
