I know it's hard for you to believe, but I wasn't talking to you and I am not the least bit interested in impressing you.
I was responding to Dave1960's comment about the truck in the photo...Which by the way would be perfectly legal to operate today as long as it was mechanicaly sound.
There are plenty of trucks that age that are operating every day...In fact, The guy that I'm leased to has a bunch of restored trucks that date from 1912 to 1954 and they're all highway legal and licensed, even though some of the older ones don't go fast enough for todays roads and are pretty much only used in parades and shows these days.
Where do you get the idea that the DOT wouldn't let a truck that age run? -
Someone doesnt know what they are talking about ..sharpshooter Thanks this.

The worst people that I've noticed doing this are the independent operators pulling containers. They don't use signals for sheet. A device so simple isn't so hard to use is it?

I love that truck. Awesome stuff, man!
-
I love the "old iron" and have a huge collection of old truck photos that I can access for my sig...I try to change it at least once a month just to share the photos with you guys.
I'm glad you like'em. -
ghostchild, not all situations are alike. You must be a daylight driver. 90% of the time these guys flash you to move over you shouldn't even be moving over yet anyway. When I get passed guys don't even give me a chance to flash em over cause they think they have to get over as soon as they clear you. It's really become quite a joke out there!
SheepDog Thanks this. -
I'm only a 3 year man in this industry (literally as in I've never been interested in them in my life), but I love history stuff and these old things are amazing, man. Keep them coming and I'll be watching.
Here, here! I agree! -
They were pretty cool and interesting and the ones that are still around are still cool and interesting.
I had the chance recently to drive a 1912 International around in our yard and it was quite an experience. (top speed of 14 MPH)
If you noticed in the picture in my sig, That old Mack had no side mounted fuel tanks, The fuel tank is sitting on the frame behind the cab. A lot of trucks in those days had "high mounted" fuel tanks. -
I can't stand having another truck switch lanes in front of me without using his turn signals. They actually think it's a cool thing to do. I put them on blast and tell them over the CB that there turn signals aren't working, then you'll see them start to use them...ghostchild Thanks this.
