Just had a fellow Swifty tell me he has no load on him. Told him where I was going with this. He says no California, Oregon or Washington for him. And then wonder why he's sitting.

 

I could understand if you was getting paid percentage, but being you get mileage it makes no sense. Did he say why he won't go there?

 

He probably heard someone on the CB saying that those states were bad...So he won't go.

The primary reason that I don't run to Oregon much is their ton mile tax and the 55 MPH speed limit...Neither of those should even be a consideration for a Swifty...

Washington...Freight rates are weak, Again not a consideration for a Swifty.

California...I don't mind running California and I get some good paying freight out of there! 55MPH sucks but I can deal with it...Again, Not anything for a Swifty to worry about.

I don't mind the 62mph much. It'll do for now. The only time I feel self-conscious is when the freakin' OFF-RAMP SPEED IS 65!!!!!!
