And here's the explanation ...

Also, a bit further to the northwest is Punxsutwaney, PA and the world famous Groundhog Day Celebration on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. I have seen some trucks at Gobbler's Knob but they were there with logistical support for the event. As far as truck parking for people just wanting to attend the event ... I would go to the contact page on this website and see what they have to say about that ...

HFC some of the Country Market employees need to be replaced. Denny's in the J's in Bakersfield,Lodi,Ripon Ca. would be a huge improvement. I have gotten food poisoning everytime I have been forced to eat at these places.
HFC Thanks this. -
I found that going to Denny's can be hit and miss. Sometimes I will go in and grab a menu and find a table to sit down and a waitperson will come take my drink and food order with no problems. Sometimes I will be asked to go stand back in the entry lobby and wait to be seated lol. "Sure". That's when I don't give them my business.
I love their Chicken Deluxe Salad though. Probably the most filling food platter on their menu. -

So, I got my party to stand up and go over the hostesses' podium to get processed. Did I feel foolish.
At the Denny's nearest me, when I do go in -- sometimes they will c##k their heads at me and wonder why I did not sit down on my own. I will c##k my head at them and wonder why they did not make any effort to come greet me and escort me to a table.
At the T/S formerly known as Flying J, I used to stop at the front of the restuarant and wait for them to process me. Then after a few times that did not seem to be working ... I just barged in and sat down on my own.
At the TA in Jessup, MD; I used to stop at the front of the restuarant and wait for them to acknowledge me. The reason being that the singular sign that says "Seat Yourself" or "Please wait to be seated" written on two seperate sides was angled in such a way I was not too sure how to take it.
Again ... that was a waste of time, so, now I just flop down where it suits me.
Thanks for the recommendation on the Chicken Deluxe Salad.Last edited: Sep 22, 2010

Yes Powder Joints forced to eat. Apparently you haven't been to those J's. There isn't anyplace within walking distance or where you can legally park a T/T.

Now you should know that across the street is to far for some. Some drivers piss in the parking lots because it's such a long walk to the truck stop bathroom. I dont understand the "forced" to eat there thing either. i was just about to reply to that. I rarely if ever left the house without having some food stashed away in the truck in case i got in a situation where there was no food or stuff i just didnt want to eat or I just wanted to save some money. Most truck drivers rarely ever find thereselves in a situation where they are forced to eat at a certain food spot. -
The Flying J in Beaverdam, Oh at exit 135/I-75 is now a Denys. The hourly help had to re-apply but they kept the same management. I think most of the help was re-hired. Thats kinda scary because the food has not been good there for the past two years. The buffet and the pizza station are now gone. I live 20 mins from there so the jury is still out for me. Im going to keep an eye on the food. The girls have told me that business is up so I am hoping for the best. The other choices are Subway and McDiarrhea's across the street at the Pilot. Then down the road is a new Waffle House...
HFC Thanks this.
