Injun has left me high and dry here in Laredo......think I'll stay here and see what happens next.

Nope! Trying to get the EGR system fixed.

I called them yesterday... Yes they have both valves. Yes, as long as I'm at the gate when they open in up this morning.... They'll be able to fix me up & get me out the door today!!

So I was here. The guy I spoke to yesterday wasn't. So I told this other guy that I spoke to Josh about getting both my EGR valves changed. Guy says "Not a problem". So he wrote it up... I also told them to change my air slider cylinder (since it is locked up), fix my passenger window (power, won't roll down), and adjust my fifth wheel to remove the slack.

So a few hours later.....

Service writter comes up to the steering wheel lounge. Tells me that my #1 EGR valve is shot & needs to be replaced. (Hmmmm..... I thought I told him that?) The cost is $1600.00 out the door for just the one valve. Around 2 grand for everything needed!

OK, what about my #2 egr valve? Service writter says, "Oh! It's ok. Not showing a problem on the computer."

I don't care what your computer says. My #2 valve is shot also! Dummy service writter says "The computer says your #2 is fine. And we can not change it unless it throws an active code"

Whatever dude.... Fix my #### truck!

5 hours later.....

Wrench comes up to the lounge... "Driver! You ready to go for a test drive?" Yeah, lets go!

So we are driving down I-10.... He's telling me this & telling me that..... Then tells me that he doesn't understand why I refused to allow him to clean my battery terminals & test my batteries. Says that the truck is showing a low voltage code.

Huh? I didn't know you wanted to do that!

The wrench asked "Didn't the service dummy come ask you?"

Nope! Only interestion I had with him is when I walked into the door & him telling me my #1 valve is shot & #2 is fine.

Now the wrench is pissed & I'm getting upset because I know what outerspacehillbilly just went thru in Cheyenne with his low voltage codes... I would have approved it to be checked.

At that time.... I throw a check engine code.. So I pull it into TTT truck stop. Wrench checks the code on the dash display. surprise surprise!!! It's an egr code!

So back to Vangaurd Volvo we roll. Pull it back into the bay, leave it running to keep the code active.... Hook up their little I'm to dumb to be a mechanic so I need a computer to tell me whats wrong machine to my truck.

Would you have guessed that my #2 egr valve is also shot?

I'm pissed now! I told them that when I walked into the door. And how many times have I spoken about both my valves being shot here on the forum, over the phone, & face to face to members here? I'm just a ####### stupid truck driver..... Right?

Anyhow.... Not enough time today to tackle an additional 5 hours of labor. And I didn't have another $1600.00 to do it.

I did negotiate with them.... I do not have to pay that additional 5 hours of labor since I told them to do it originally. I do have the cash to cover the other EGR valve, tonights motel, & a few days of meals.

So I'll be good....

I just wish these ####### would listen to the driver for a change. BW9, you & hillbilly know I'm not as dumb as I appear to be! (<----- I opened the box, take your shots!)

I go into these places armed with information of whats going on with my truck. I have several Volvo shops I talk to regularly about my issues.... Not counting having Volvo Headquarters on speed dial. When this truck throws a code... I make calls to find out whats wrong & how serious it is!

Yes you opened the door but after a day like that I'll let you slide but only for a couple days!

South Bend. Load cancelled 6 hrs before appt. Sittin' at the South Bend Pilot for a while before heading to Pleasant Prairie WI. Load at 0700 then 2 days to get to Greenfield IN. ("I think I can, I think I can, I think I can....") Oh well, there's a 34 in there and I know I can find somewhere between Pleasant Prairie and Greenfield to get into some kind of trouble.

Baton Rouge is the worse part of the trip w/o question I just hope LSU has a road game tomorrow !!
