Altoona IA (Maybe it's Mitchellville, or sumpin') Rest Area. Got away from Edwardsville later than expected. Trailer hell! Exspectin' to get at least to Davenport before shutting down. Maybe more, depends on how I feel once I get to Davenport.

Well.....

Just to update peoples....

I've been home all week. Actually got home last Friday. I spent last weekend cleaning up my truck. Put a massive detail on the thing.... I did I did! Then removed all my curtains, clothing, & bedding & got everthing washed.

Monday came around & i'd be ###### if I remember what I did. I think I was out on my Harley all day, but I really can't recall.

Tuesday... We had storms coming in... To back up the storms we got late Monday night. But that didn't stop me. I was going riding. But my Mother happen to sneak in the words "I'm gonna need new tires soon, but these should last until after Christmas". So off on my bike I went. 6 miles & hit the rain. Turned onto a side road that leads to home. But the rain was coming down so hard I couldn't see a #### thing or where I was turning. The next thing I saw was a sign saying "Welcome to Alabama"! That's cool though, cause it was nice & sunny there. So I continued my ride. Stopped for a break to find a voicemail from my Momma.... Flat tire on my van. The spare was already detroyed.... This tire had come seperated.... And everything was CLOSED except for NTB. I get discount on tires elsewhere, so I went to NTB to get the wheels aligned & would get the tires at my place Wednesday morning. Well guess what? The other steer was coming seperated.... So NTB couldn't do me any good. So off I go limping my van home.

Wednesday.... I was up & rolling bright and early. Got 5 new tires.... Went home & patiently awaited the 1nonly's arrival. (she was running a couple hours behind her eta) Then her & I went back into NTB to get front brakes & a wheel alignment on my van. Afterwards we met my Mother in Trenton, switched vehicles (I wanted my Jeep back), went home & picked up my son.... Then my daughter, son, Mother, 1nonly, & myself went out to eat a Pizza Hut! That place was freezing!!! The rest of the night was uneventful.

Thursday.... We were up pretty early & dragged around the house here for a couple hours. Then 1nonly & I were going to go up to look out mountain & ruby falls. Somehow that plan got changed when she suggested that we ride the Harley. I'm down for that! So we squeezed her head into my daughters helmet, rode to the store & bought a proper fitting helmet. Then got sidetracked! We rode thru downtown Chattanooga. Down past the river front. Out Amnicola Hwy. Then made a few turns & went up and rode Missionary Ridge. (<---- look it up if you don't know) Went to the Ft. Oglethorpe battlefield. Spent some time in the museum there. Then rode slowly thru the battlefield until we reached Chickamauga, GA. There we stopped for a quick lunch. Then rode GA-341 south to GA-136 west out past Cloudland Canyon & back into Trenton. Then we came back to my house because I had to go get my daughter from her basketball practice & take her to the football game. (we were undefeated until later that night). I think the rest of Thursday night was uneventful.... We did watch a movie. Oh wait!! I noticed her eyeing up my guns. So I asked her if she wanted to shoot one? Apparently she has never shot a gun & had always wanted to. So off into the backyard we go at 8 pm. I took the .22 out there for her to shoot & I carried my 9mm rifle just in case. There it is.... Nearly pitch black outside & we are firing off guns & probably pissing my neighbors off! My kids heard the guns, so they came out to do some shooting as well.

Friday.... Was even a later start! I had to get this & that for my truck. I had to get stuff sent off that belongs to BW9. I had to pick up my sister's kids from her ex's.... A busy day with no real achomplishments. 1nonly & I rushed to FedEx to get BW9 stuff sent. Then we picked up 2 of my sister's kids & took them to Ci Ci's pizza for lunch. Then BW9 called telling about this ditz at FedEx.... So I went back over there to make sure everything was handled properly. Then off to truck pro to get my headache rack bolt kit & cab shocks. They don't have either. But they have to bolt kit in Dalton. To late to get to Dalton today, so they put my name on them to hold. Then to MHC KW... They don't have either. Then Fleetpride.... They have the bolt kit, so I bought it. Then off to Volvo... They don't have the cab shocks either. But they do have the trim that busted off my fairings, so I bought that. No one had the cab shocks.... But they can have them Monday! Monday is too late for me.... Why do I procrastinate? Anyhow.... Rush home! 1nonly gets dolled up (she really didn't need to) & we pack 2 vehicles full & go to the Disney on Ice show in Chattanooga. I think it was a good show. And afterwards her & I went to DQ and held a toast to Texas Nana!

That brings up to today.... 1nonly had to leave. But we did manage to go out to breakfast & shopping for her groceries! After she left, I put my headache rack on. Installed my cybertrucker laptop stand. Tightened a few loose nuts & bolts on the ultimate Volvo. Then took my kids trick or treating..... Don't ask me why, but that's the way they do it down here. I guess since tomorrow is a school day.

All in all I had a great time!

 

I would. But I'm going the other way!

What will it take to get a discount?

 

Had to call it quits in San Jon, NM. The good thing about this truckstop is that there is plenty of room to park, and it's only 11:25pm. I tried to make it to Tucumcari, but the nasty wreck near the TX, NM border and the potential lack of parking at the Love's and T/A on exit 333 was enough motivation for me to stop early.
