I'll take a Subway, mostly for the price.

I hate pulling into the TA in Morris. There's a Quiznos there, and you end up paying 7-8 bucks for a sub. Not like there's much of a choice. It's either that, or blowing 10+ bucks at that restaurant, or settling for nasty pre-packaged sandwiches.

They have a hotdog stand there, and brats, but those (especially in Morris) always seem they've been sitting on the rollers for a liiiiitle too long.

Plus I only get hotdogs unless they have fresh condiments. Gotta have my fresh onions on a hotdog.

I'm out two weeks at a time so I usually end up going through my groceries stocked in my truck in a week unless I want canned fruit for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I was there yesterday ordering my sandwich, the girl was preparing the guy's food behind me, he said "black forest ham not turkey" to her. She pulled the turkey off which had some residual mayonaisse on it and tossed it back in the turkey bin. Subway just got their last dollar from me...

I swear, sometimes I wonder if some of those people think at all. (I feel like I am stereo typing...sorry) Subway advertises fresh veggies, and if you go to subway first thing in the morning, they use the veggies that were sitting in the bin the night before, well, ok, I get it. But, if your lettuce is brown and your tomatos are beginning to sun dry, why serve it. I hate telling subway employees not to put unsightly looking veggies on my sub/salad. And I always feel guilty asking the sub maker to remove unsightly food, I feel like I am being rude by expecting what subway advertises. (Now, I am venting....this feels good:biggrin_2559:) And why does my sun dried turkey sub taste like it has a side of tuna on it:biggrin_25511:!!!! IDk

Subway isn't anyway special to me but I'm glad to have the option even for breakfast.

I would actually rather have a Subway breakfast flatbread sandwich then McDonalds.

Though some places do have Quiznos and it is a nice change to try their sandwiches. I drive by Chicago on I-80 a lot and will often go to the Morris TA because they seem to be the last TA to have Quiznos instead of Popeyes.

I really gotta wonder for those that "think" they are eating healthy at Subway, how healthy that food actually is.

I can't even stand the smell of the herbed bread that Subway bakes. When I walk into the Peelot (or where ever their brand has spread) and that aroma hits me, it's instant diet time. I loose my appitite...

I went to one of the Subway's here in the city where I live to get my wife a sandwich. When the girl asked what veggies I wanted, I saw a blow fly laying dead on top of the tomatoes. Um... common house flies are one thing, but when there are blow flies on the food, then Houston, we have a problem.

Needless to say, I left without anything.
