Worked for them for 10 years. Quitting to become O/O with Landstar. Calark is very good about keeping you moving. They are not shy about dead heading you to where the freight is. I have dead headed from Laredo to Little Rock several times. What they would do is if there were more drivers there than freight in laredo, they would dead head company drivers out and give the loads to lease drivers. Laredo is the only place I might have to sit till the next day to get a load. Generally the only time I sat for a load for more than half a day was because it was a weekend or holiday. Safety rides you hard to keep legal but there are ways to cut corners.

Hi there in answer to your question is your on the right track asking others what they think however you will hear good and bad things about just about all trucking companies so keep that in mind basically it comes down to what you want where your going to be based Calark are based in Little Rock AR does that suit your needs? i know they got into a bit of trouble a few years back for hire some aussie driver without the proper work visa's the manager went to jail for it so i'm told . Being new its important to really get on well with your dispatcher too they can really make life hard for you if you get on there wrong side. any ways hope this will be of help to you Bro/ sis and welcome to the world wide brotherhood of trucker.

    Cheers

I work for their Central Hauling division and had no problem with miles or truck reapairs. Being in their lease program i was doing well and left due to personal family matters that made me leave on bad terms and i regret it everyday. They didnt put any dings on my DAC. or say anything negative about me. I cant return there due to my own ignorence. This was 7/04 to 4/05

In other words......if you like sitting 1000 miles from home on weekends and holidays.....CalArk is for you? Got it!

Better check again. If they told you that "you can't return". Then your DAC most likely says "Not eligable for re-hire". That, my friend, is a 'ding'.
