I think you were right in doing what you did.
On the flip side, you could have offered to help spot him.
However if the driver was going to take off without saying anything, if he would have hit it anyway, you could have gotten the blame for it.
So as it turns out I think you did right on both counts...

Excuse me? Exactly how am I being a #####?

Just because I refuse to help someone out because they are willing to get behind the wheel of rig that could kill someone without even learning how to read road signs or the gauges on the dash hardly means I'm a #####.

Learn the language or go to some other country and work where you can communicate with others without endangering lives! I wouldn't call that a biggots stance, I'd call it a sane persons stance.

How someone can sit on his ### and watch somebody run into something I may never understand. He could have collapsed the landing gear while someone was inside with a forktruck. Its funny how you want to be the hero after the damage is already done. Where was all that righteousness when things were going down? You don't have to guide him in but you at least could have blown the horn. You may not have even been able to stop it from happening but at least you could have lifted a finger and tried. Would you have just sat there and let him back into you?

    markers,
you must be one of those supertruckers?
I'm sorry dude, but sure, there is alot of drivers maybe not as good as you.
I'm wonderin,,how good were you when you first started drivin?
Maybe the guy was new, and yes your right, he should have gotten out too at least look if he wasnt sure...
I guess I just hate seeing atitudes of "Me or I"....
Say the shoe is on the other foot,,,,"your on the side of the road, and could use some help"......But your hair is blowin all over the place from trucks flyin past you....
    Carma, my man,,,,carma.......

Look the word B I G O T up. Then you will understand.
While you are at it look up "Ignorant" , "self-righteous" and "common sense".

Trucks don't speak English and neither do gauges.
Road signs don't require fluency in a language.

You have been called on been self centered. Now you try to deflect this by hoping others will empathize with you due to a common bigoted beliefs.

You have now been called on this.

The poster asked if he did the correct thing in the original post.Seems most people think he did by reporting the incident but was wrong to let it happen when it appears he could have prevented it.

Accept the advice , he asked for it didn't he?
The advice about not paying attention while standing in a dock could save your life.

ok so you didnt talk to him--but yet you knew he was a non-english speaking person---how does that work?
meanwhile the guy might have lived here all his life--and spoken 7 languages
you are almost asmuch at fault as he is
just think about that while you are laying on the ground having a heart attack or something--would you maybe want somebody to help you?
or should they just sit there and watch?
