why would i post such info, just so you could get your kicks out of saying how much more you make than me?? i'll post it to whoever PMs me and asks for it. Those who dislike me, i could honestly care less about. If i knew it was you stranded on the side of the road, i'd just honk and waive at ya as i blow by ya.....thats how much i care about ya.

I am also waiting for a mentor, but I just finished orientation a couple days ago in Fontana.
But I expected as much. My recruiter told me to pack light because I would be going home 'for a couple days'. Which, I know, means longer than 2 days. At least I was forewarned, which is more than the others in my orientation class had. They all expected to be going out right away.
I also realize that the holiday week slowed things down, and probably the bad weather as well. So now there are too many newbies and not enough mentors to go around, for now. My recruiter didn't tell me the reasons, but the things I mentioned seem obvious enough.
I am not happy about waiting, but I do understand some of the reasons that are causing me to wait. Hopefully, it won't be too long. -
I understand. I had read when you started your adventure that you were going to give us monthly updates etc. The reason why I was asking was because I am very interested in the program as well. This is sorta off topic/cross posting so to get back -- yes Swift is good. -

Howdy. I'm new to this forum. I have been reading a lot of posts this past week and have gained a lot of valauble knowledge. I talked to a Swift recruiter today and hopefully I will be able to attend their training school sometime in the near future. I've put in three applications to three different companies. MCT, CR England, and Swift. MCT and CR England have both called back and approved my application. CR England will be my last choice and with MCT, the trip to Idaho, and me having to cover the costs for room and board while in their school, puts them out of the running. So Swift is it the front-runner. They have a terminal in my hometown which is plus. And there school in San Antonio is not too far from here. Maybe I can drive there. I hear the first year is rough but I can hack it. I'm not looking for a smooth ride. I have been with the same company for the past 10 yrs in the warehouse distribution business so I hope to stick with Swift for a long period of time. Hopefully the recruiter calls me back soon and lets me know what the next step is to take.

I have a question for all you Swift brethren (and "sistren"): I have been seeing more lease operators/owner operators than I have company drivers. Is the company slowly transitioning into a L/O slash O/O company? (Silly question, I know). I called a friend who operates under his own authority that mentioned the same thing.

Here's a question.....How long would you have to work for Swift to become an owner operator bringing your own truck and not leasing one of there's?
