Nice story...but "personal urine" being stored in the rig in any container would not qualify that for a "bio-hazard"
The lab tech vehicle, driving around collecting the various samples for transport to the lab does not need a "HM" endorsement on his Class C license....so the story has so many holes it is worse than swiss cheese!
Said i'd never do this......

i just caught a glimpse of truckerwife's post, who told me this? it is or was posted on the wall next to driver services in Edwardsville, about the time they reinstated the penny a mile bonus.
but think of it, ursus....its a penny a mile, AFTER the student has been driving solo for 6 months. maxing out with a total bonus of $125. thats 12,500 miles max you can get credit for, per month, of student drives. you'll max out on your 2nd student (since it'll be rare to see one newbie running 3000mi averages) So thats why some crank out as many students as they can, to ensure they get that max bonus. Cause how many students stay with, or make it long enough to qualify for their mentor?? how many wash out?? still dont offset how much you kick into the company each mile to have a student on the truck. you're basicly paying the students paycheck for swift each week.
but like i said, wear and tear on the truck will be eliminated, because i plan to give them my own test the first hour or so in the edwardsville terminal yard. And i've already told the student DM i'll be doing this, and if they dont make it, they're off my truck. They have a CDL. They should already know the basics of turning right and left, and backing up. Granted, when i was a student, i BARELY had the concept of backing....but i had it. might take me a couple pull ups to get it square, where as now, i dont need any. but so what. who cares how many pull ups a driver does, as long as they dont hit anything.
biggest thing ill look for, is to see if the student is too lazy to GOAL. if i never see them get out when the truck is jacked.....that'll raise a red flag. -
but its a nice story !!

Transporting human urine in a reportable quantity over 1 ounce is illegal unless the vehicle is placarded. It is indeed a biohazardous material and the TSA will have questions for you in a dark room with a 2 way mirror as to why you are carrying an ingredient for explosive devices on the national interstate system and might entitle you to a one-way trip to Gitmo. In your little book if you look, it's a Dangerous Good UN-U339.

why not just bring a little plant to piss in, or pour the piss from the bottle in the plant...
-
Or just go to the bathroom.

Then I guess we better all tattoo Biohazard Hazmat Placards on our arses and every single human in the US get a CDL with the endorsement. Really.
If you continue reading that little hazmat handbook, you will also see anything labeled "limited quantities" does not need to be placarded. Also, that pee bottle is not freight, not listed on the BOL and not a product being transported for compensation. I don't know where you rookies get this crap. Stay away from that liar's counter until you can figure out how to filter out BS.
If you still insist you're right on this, then I give up. You will at that point be considered hopeless. If you doubt me, call Hazmat Compliance at the Memphis yard. (BTW: I've been hauling hazmat with an endorsement for over 12 years...since long before I acquired my Class A and have 10 years experience with hazmat as a responder.)scottied67 and otherhalftw Thank this. -
also--if it were for human consumption i dont thiink it would be considered hazardous---some people do partake of the fluid--but not me
i have to stop and pee to much as it is with out refilling the #### stuffscottied67 Thanks this. -
Dick I gotta say this thread gets funnier every time I read. You just continue to reveal to all of us how little you actually know with each post you make.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
Not gonna get many dates if putting a "Hazardous Material" placard on zipper..
Injun, otherhalftw, scottied67 and 3 others Thank this.
