about 2700 average, most was 3400+ week before christmass

When i stopped being a company driver, back in mid. Oct., i was doing around 2400-2600. I'd say a good average is 2200-2400. Anybody who tells you they average 3000-4000 is full of SHATner. Most drivers i hear complaining, seem to not break 2000....but there is a reason behind it. if you WANT to drive, and you have a good relationship with your DM, there is no reason you can't do 2500/wk averages....
TxStoke Thanks this. -
I'd say dick is about right, My very first week on my own I got 2300 miles. And that was a slow week, I sat in winsonsin for almost 48 hours on a mix up, and missed a good load.
If you get out here and are willing to drive, and not hang out at truckstops, you will get good miles. The Challenger, scottied67 and TxStoke Thank this. -
Thanks I am still looking inwhat company to go with. I hear 3000 a week my wife told me its better to understimate like 2300 and if you get 3200 then its a plus

Agreed on what everyone has written. The company has a goal that you should produce about 2500 miles per week. I have been averaging about 2000 miles or a little less per week. 3 weeks before Christmas I got food poisoning and could only produce about 1000 miles. The following week I turned 1100 miles due to needing a log class that I put off til the last minute. Well, I had put in for hometime such that I could take the class at my home terminal 2 days before being placed on a safety hold. Instead I sat 2.5 days 3000 miles from home when I went in to take the class which turned out that I did not need; another driver with sloppy handwriting made his employee number look like mine-- so lost a lot of potential miles there. The week leading up to Christmas week, Swift made a Herculean effort to get me 3000 miles west for home. But I got stuck in Edwardsville Kansas due to no empty trailers available. Got another 34 in that I did not need-- (turns out that it came in handy though). Finally got a 1500 something mile load to Sparks Nevada, only a couple hundred miles from home.
So I did the math, 3 weeks under 1500 miles, I need to keep rolling Christmas or no. So called wife and DM, explained I needed to stay out and scored an 1800 mile load back to Ottawa Illinois. Just accepted 123 mile deadhead to get a load, and 593 miles to deliver it by the end of the pay period cutoff. Not sure exactly but I should be very close to 4000 miles paid for the week- the most I have produced in a 1 week period ever.Last edited: Dec 28, 2010

good luck... how did you do anyway? from the miles you said you 'scored', you still had about 1500 miles to run to make 4k.scottied67 Thanks this.

Unfortunately I was hit by an SUV yesterday 12/29 while en route to complete the trip before the midnight cutoff for the pay period which would have represented 4128 miles paid for the week. So I'm sitting waiting for a repower and a decision on towing the truck to a shop or terminal for repairs. I don't think it's prudent for me to talk about the details of the accident yet.

your math isnt adding up... 1800+750=2550. even if you're starting off with 500, you still only have 3100....unless i'm missing something...
