I didn't have much time to trash around Portage. I grabbed a shower, dinner, then back to trailer trucking! I was halfway across Minnesota last night before I shut down.
Besides, everyone is making me out to be a fat ####### pig.... So I didn't want to disappoint anyone. -
Hauling out of Georgia Pacific in Toledo.

Then you would be....Almost as dumb as you look!
I already delivered and left...I'm in Dallas till Monday.
There are much nicer places to trash around!
I've never known you to turn down a hot meal....
I'll be "Grillin' and Chillin'" at the T/A in Dallas tomorrow, 'Cause I got unloaded today and now I can just relax till Monday! -
If you've never been out there, go past the Dairy Queen on Hwy 20, over the hill to the "exit" after Arcadia (on top of the hill) be very careful going around that right turn. It's very poorly banked. Go to the flashing yellow light and turn left. You'll go around some more deceivingly bad banked corners until you get to a tiny brown mom n pop convenience store on your right. Turn right, veer left at the bottom of that hill in front of you and go on around the bottom of the hill. There's a stop sign, a short left turn across the tracks and another stop sign. Yeah, I know we're not supposed to stop on railroad tracks, but you really don't have a choice here. When you're squarely facing the mill, turn right and go to the end of the fence line. It's a left. Go to the parking area on your right and walk to the guard shack from there. They get really cranky if you pull right up to the gate.
Don't turn at that Dairy Queen. Toledo PD loves to write that ticket. Chippers can go there because they are under the length restriction. You don't want that ticket. It's around $500.
When you leave, backtrack the way you went in. And stay off Hwy 229 through Siletz. The only reason it's marked a truck route is for loggers. Hwy 20 east from Toledo will net you an even bigger ticket plus a huge tow bill. You obviously know this or you'd be hollering to high heck about it now.
Toledo GP is a real PITA, but those union guys beeyotch anytime proceedure is deviated from. Just do it their way and don't take the condescending attitude personally. They're like that to everybody.
Oh, yeah...take your pickup number with you to the guard shack. You'll be picking up that phone on the outside of the shack and calling the main gate to check in. They do not keep track of your time for you or give wakeup service. You're on your own for that. And do not be late to the main gate even by 5 minutes. They will reschedule you.
Tell Captain Dorothy Cathcart that Belinda says hi. -
