terminals and trucks

any of them really, they all have a mix of trucks.

 

As far as I know you can still request a truck, however they will just give you whatever.

 

Werner does not honor requests like this before u see the person that gives u the tractor she or he will already have it assigned to u. They only care that it meets the min dot requierments not hat it is clean etc

 

Sad , in the past your truck was SPOTLESS inside / out fully detailed when it was assigned. They had a shop that did nothing but prep new trucks , revamp reassigned trucks and DE WERNERIZE trucks being sold or traded.

 

Hell when I went to Werner I was told the secret of getting the truck you wanted.....they used to ask for your top 3 truck choices......the secret was to put the truck you wanted 2nd on the list. Maybe it's different now

 

I know at the indy tm they just assign you I was luck and got a KW that was in really nice shape from what I can see and have heard they give out alot of freightshakers from indy. Also they don't give out new mattress there either just a cheap zip on cover for the dirty mattress that's in there. I did get a new mattress from atlanta when I was down there all I did was ask.

 

Depends on where you finish training. Dallas terminal always has the most trucks available. Fontana the fewest. Omaha will assign you a truck but at least the process is smoother since its the home terminal. See if your trainer can help you finish up in dallas.... you still may not get to pick but it will up your chances.

 

Dallas had a lot of Petes the last time i was in there. i tested out in Phoenix and they had three trucks....i was number 5, two of the trucks they had were ready for the junk pile so it was just as well. they sent me north to Indiana, after a month of running around in a classic, they sold it and i got a new Volvo. it drives great but has no pulling power, anything over 35k is like putting on the breaks. however....it has an APU. so i am happy.
