The only thing I hate about Cali, besides their backwards politics, is the speed limit for us!...I couldn't wait to get out of there, like Sammy said, I CAN'T DRIVE 55!!!!!!!
scottied67, NWMAXI and JimDriv3r Thank this. -
You non-Cali trucker people have all valid, good reasons to hate having to drive through Cali! I can't wait to move.
JimDriv3r and scottied67 Thank this. -
All you non-Cali folks just don't understand that Cali don't need you, so stop hating. Right now, there's too many trucker hanging around, so I'd be thankful if you'd leave so that I can get a decent load price.
I'm born and raised in CA, and remember when life here was a lot more relaxed because there were half the number of idiots driving on the roads. The freeways were the nation's best, and in many ways they still are. Now, things are a little tougher, a little more competitive, but I still can't see moving to any other state. The weather is the best here, the produce is fresh and available all year around, and there's lots to do here. LA and SF are metro areas that are way more fun than any of the other metros in the USA, and that includes the Big Apple.
SF Giants rule--don't forget that! All you Texas Rangers fans. Poor ole' GW had to watch from his sky box as his team got slaughtered like a Texas long horn being dehorned by a Grizzly Bear. Had NY Yankees made it to the series, SF Giants would have gone to Yankee Stadium and kicked ### there as well! Never mind those crazy Yankee fans and all their trash throwing--SF knows how to survive and pay it's own way.
I'm not saying I like driven 55, because I don't, but I can assure you that I rarely do anyway. I understand the CHP enough to know when they are going to dish out the ticket. And, as for the ticket price, those numbers are the maximum allowable by law. Judges rarely give the max unless the driver is too often in court.scottied67 and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Thanks for the info stocktonhauler. I've got a load from Denver to Sac, will be visiting hometime in Stockton in few days yay.

Cali has-
12 & 16
Great weather
Beautiful scenery
LEO's that have always treated me with respect
Some of the best outdoor recreation on the planet
Some of the best motorcycle roads and weather on the planet
Great food and culture -
Cali has the highest mountain in the contiguous United States. Cali has the lowest point elevation wise in the nation. In Cali you could get up in the morning and ski Squaw and early afternoon be surfing Ocean Beach.

Good reasons to visit, but not live there!JimDriv3r and northstarfire0693 Thank this.

It's all relative lol. I know when I'm going through Wisconsin or Michigan I think to myself 'why do people live here?' Same thing for every state I have been in. My appreciation for California has skyrocketed since seeing so much of what else is America. I can't wait to come back and settle down, retire, grow vegetables and koi and relax.

Like another member said... ok to visit not to live there. You guys can keep LA and SF they are not great areas to live and you can also keep all the crazy stupid laws too.
