Really? I guess the Lawyer I hired falsified the '"Case dismissed" outcome.

Yea I've already paid the logging violation. My main concern is the speeding ticket. I have court in two weeks and from what I have gathered in talking to my lawyer and other drivers that have been in the same situation...they really have no intentions of killing your livelihood, they just want your money..ALL OF IT! The goal is to get a lesser charge, which sounds pretty doable.

If your livelyhood depends on your license, which it does. You should always contact a lawyer and discuss if you have a chance of getting it dropped to a lesser charge. Such as faulty speedometer or something.

All states are after the money. Unless you did some major speeding your lawyer if unable to get charge dropped to something lower can at the very least keep the points off of your license.

Well............that's like everything else in life. You get what you pay for. Let's see you can compare it to toilet paper or trash bags. If you get the real cheap toilet paper you're going to have a mess on your hands. and a raw arse. If you pay for the the expensive ones, you get no mess on your hands. Same for trash bags. You buy the unnamed walmart brand, they'll bust and leak and make a hell of a mess. You buy the Glad one that has the stretch sides, you can pack the whole refridgerator in there and it won't bust.

You get a dirt cheap attorney, 9 out of 10 times, you haven't got much. You get the lawyers OJ had for the murder charge, you walk. :biggrin_2559:

In my case I paid $500 dollars. Then I will have to pony up the cash for whatever they end up charging me with on Monday when I go to court, which will be paid in full at that time so that I can get this over with and behind me. Keeping my fingers crossed....

That is alot of money but STILL A DROP IN THE BUCKET for what I WOULD have paid in the form of monthly fees had I used pre-paid legal over the last eight years. (Those guys who stand around the entrance of TA's) Obviously, stay out of trouble and if you do need assistance pay for it when you need it, not when you don't.

Well went to court today. I ended up getting the ticket reduced to a 65 in a 60. Defiantly acceptable given the original charge.

Good deal. You make an effort, usually you can get it reduced. I agree with your 1st post. The punishment doesn't fit the crime. But then again, you ain't friends and they won't see you again. So they put it to you. :)
