Yes, actually I do miss the auto shifts! Ya know I hear other drivers talk about how they so despise autaomatic trucks, now granted I dont know how the "first" automatics were but the truck I had at USX shifted just fine. And being able to select manual and shift it down for uphills and down hills made it just as effecient and effective as the manuals. Now granted I have never had "problems" shifting manual trucks its not a big deal really, but I mean who in thier right mind would like to shift. Im sure some super trucker on this site will flame me for saying it, but why shift if you dont have to? For all of the flaws at USX I will say they have some if not the best equipment in the industry.

MAN what a story, I've been at my company for 10 years. I was thinking about going to USX back in NOV of 2006 and MAN oh MAN am i glad i didnt. I have a sore clutch knee after 31 years of driving, and wanted to go to them for thier auto's to save my knee.
After all the war stories i heard i decided to stay with my current job. And GUESS WHAT :biggrin_25523: They gave me a 2007 Volvo with a AUTO, but the clutch is SO EASY it doesnt even feel like thier is one. Best news of them all is my KNEE doesnt hurt anymore WOO WOO:biggrin_2559:

I'm SORRY for all u guys with them terrible war stories, But u saved this driver from making a BAD mistake. And u SAVED my knee too TY TY TY

Air assist clutch, maybe? The last Volvo I drove had one of those.

Talk about a sore leg, try doing heavy haul work with a porcelain clutch and feathering it.

Chicken Man the Volvos IIRC have a hydraulic clutch. Nice and easy.

To the OP you can fix your DAC without a lawyer. There is info on this site.

I know this is an old post but just remember all of those hours wasted while some idiot frittered away your valuable time, more times than not your employer is being compensated very nicely for it. Isn't that touching....
