My mortgage payment, truck payment, utility, etc payments are all made on line. I haven't had to mail a check since early 2000 and something or other...

Only my truck insurance company doesn't take on line payments. The gals in the office admit their boss man is still back in the dinosaur days of writing checks. But, I send them posted dated check 3 months at a time, so its never an issue.

You beat me to it, good suggestion. Many of your small towns off of the big road have the PO right on the main drag. Many of these places have room enough to at least pull onto the shoulder.

Your bank's online bill pay is your friend.

Mine is free, 85% of my bills are electronic meaning that the payment is in the designated payee's account in 2 biz days from the time I send it. The rest are mailed.... and they pay the postage.

    My cost?????????? $0.00

Payments can be set up on the date of my choosing right from my laptop, desktop etc.

All the times I was trucking I mailed in all of my signed BOLs via snail mail from the TS.

Never had a problem. That didn't mean I wasn't always nervous about it. Just too cheap to use the yellow box.

I like having a paper trail when it comes to my bills. Electronic devices do glitch.... And it would be my luck to have it glitch and lose my payments.

I'm the same way Redd, I still believe in the ol fashion way. I have to have paper bills sent to me. Sending mail not only employs overpaid postal workers but it also keeps truck driving jobs.

I'd thought I'd update this with a new location I used today.

    Amarillo, TX.

I-40 to exit 71. Go south about 2 or 3 blocks. Turn right on Ross st. The Post Office will immediately be on your left. Ross St. is a nice WIDE road you can park on the shoulder.... No signs saying no parking.

Or you can probably park across the street at the Sam's Club.
