I'm looking for anyone working for Con-way truckload to share there experience so far about them. What do you like and dislike about the company? How many miles would someone starting fresh out of driving schools get as team and solo? Is the .01c per mile for a pet forever? Are your trucks nice? Do they all have APU's? I want to hear from drivers please. Recruiters will tell you anything I hear.
    Thanks again.
    Drive safe

2.The pet .01 cent per mile is for eternity(and your deposit is non-refunable)
    3.Trucks,yes nicer than most,some still have apu's no new ones will,a mix of Kw t-600's&660's(hate em,to small)Prostars!! and Cascadia's(which i have)

    How about teams? Mileage?
How long will it really take with a trainer? Will the trainer be doing any driving or do we both pull over and sleep?

Miles for teams? well i will put it this way,it all depends on "what-type" of team your are a part of:
1.Dedicated:Are Seniority Based, miles are pretty much constant to the "account" you are on
2.Priority:1st unit in area of the system to get assigned a load, miles better than most in miles(4000-5000+ a week)
3.OTR; last teams to get assigned loads(3000-4000 normally)

Trainer:(which I am one,but not training right now) we do not "normally" drive if you are a brand new student(the truck is dispatch as a"solo",,though at end of your training cycle you will then be dispatched as a team until you truck is assigned)
If you have experiance, though not enough in company's eyes, you might be assigned to a trainers truck for no more than 2 weeks to be accessed(usually dispatched as a team)
Hope this helps,if you call Recruiting im sure they can answer the training issue as it pertains to you,GOOD LUCK!:biggrin_25525:

I was told you get that .01 back after 90 days if you keep your fuel mileage up to par. Then again recruiters will say anything. lol

I'm looking at Conway TL as well.

What is the salary increase schedule for teams? What is the max pay for teams? Is it better to do teams or go solo with Con-way.

trucking is like sale. u will get your up and your down. Dont worry about how nice r the truck is. The number one concern is how much u will end up making. I will take a beater if company can get me 3500+ a week. Althought some truck dont have apu, but if condition is not right, u can iddle truck to your comfort. I think the main thing they concern is your safety performing and on time p/u and delvry.

I was responding to a ? for Conway TL(former CFI) you will not get on as a team with Conway LTL,There system is totally seniority based and like Union shops they do bid.

As for the .01 back after 90 days, yes and no you will but if u slip it will be taken back, the fuel mileage is based on fuel, and out of route miles,,,like i said "Good Luck",been here 10 years, have maintained a 6.1mpg,never have made the fuel bonus nor do I seek it,but then again I have never had to sit in the Safety Dept and get lectured about fuel mileage:biggrin:biggrin_25525:

Does Conway have a terminal close to or in NC? They look like they have nice equipment, I see there trucks go through the town I live in pretty regularly. The T660 86" studio sleepers look nice but I am guessing they are for teams only.
