I've seen those too...don't know for sure but I'm thinking it's not a fully stocked ambulance, but rather a sort of transfer vehicle for patients needing some services but not all of 'em.

Either that, or it's merely a different conjugation of the verb "ambular".

    Bumpy Thanks this.

You'd have to be as warped as I am to have a shot at understanding it...and I'm not even sure I do!:biggrin_25512:

An ambulance is an ALS (Advanced Life Support) unit staffed with at least ane EMT-Paramedic and an EMT-Basic with all the equipment and meds/supplies for critical transport.

An ambulette is a BLS (Basic Life Support) unit staffed with two EMT-Bs and is generally used for planned transport and non-emergent care.

On the West side, we simply call them ALS and BLS units.

Just been hiding out and enjoying time with the wife and kids. I kind of forgot how nice it was to be home every night. I miss being out there but i'm really enjoying this for now. I only get on about about once every 5 or 6 days to glance and see what all you heathens are up to and make a quick comment and run! :biggrin_25522:

$12.00 a night....I waste more money than that feeding REDD!

That's OK...I'm used to feeding him, Besides if he shows up here tonight he gets to meet 07-379PETE because he'll be here in a little while and I already have him a parkin' space saved!

REDD usually can smell the food grillin' from 2000 miles away and has been known to deadhead for 2 days to get to a good BW9 grilled meal!:yes2557:
