few years back watched Prime and Werner block Wolf Creek when they tried to run it with cables. CSP was not amused in the slightest, that was before the new fines. Cables are for drag use only on Wolf Creek, Monarch, Red Mtn., Berthoud, and even then they still aren't required. I've seen a couple of Werner's run cable's on 70, but they usually sneak by when CSP isn't looking.

Now, had I been in the area, I might have loaned you a set of singles. When code 18 is in place, Colo. wants a minimum of 4 singles, not happening if I can avoid it. I just wish SWIFT, Prime, Werner, England, Interstate, etc. would teach their drivers that Colorado doesn't require drag chains, and they can stop putting them on and taking up extra time in the chain up areas. I know, some people want to be extra safe, but those chain up areas aren't that big.

Agreed... it says cables are fine in the state propaganda handout, but CSP can and will require you to throw iron if they deem its necessary.
