If you haven't figured out in FOUR months if a company is good or not then your not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Got news for you mega junk carrier coolies here, these companies only want you for a month or two then your tossed aside like a piece of garbage in favor of the next guy who answered the glossy ad. Western Express is just one of those companies that you can tell sucks without driving for them. This is clearly pointed out in the fact they advertise.

For an experienced OTR driver, if your not running 2500-3000 miles right out of the gate then your just a slacker and if your willing to run but they don't have the miles then your with a lousy company that you shouldn't have gone to work for in the first place. What prey tell takes four months to learn? Whose butt to kiss? How to shift a worn out truck?

You did good! Although that's four months of your life you'll never get back at least you got out before you went into the poor house for some sappy trash hauling company.

Was with them for 90 days as part of team truck in 05, our first 9 loads, nothing over 1,000 miles, kept us running I-81, could never get us home to the west US for home time, cause they said there was nothing going west, yet at that time they were doing a dedicated water heater account from TN. to CA.

Western express in my opinion has a reputation for being a bunch of idiots! I have personally seen some actions by some drivers there that would definitely make u stay away from. I guess that comes from corporates attitude.

I spoke to a 4yr West Express driver this morning at a delivery point, he said other than minor issues(as with all companies), he was happy and making money...He didn't like they were going to E-logs, that was his biggest complaint...

I'll second that from personal experience. No, I've never driven for Western Express, but the actions of one driver proved to me that some drivers in that company have ZERO common sense. Most will not admit lack of common sense, but if you're caught in the act like this guy was, well.....

I was picking up a preloaded trailer at the Maersk warehouse in Newark, NJ last year. The directions given to me on my Quallcomm routed me
around a 12'2" overpass. The drop yard itself was just before said 12'2" clearance on the left. And the overpass was CLEARLY marked, as well as by distance, such as 1/2 mile ahead, 1500 ft. ahead, etc.

I performed my drop and hook there in the yard, and was getting ready to head back to the Turnpike, when as I was looking right to make my right-hand turn, turning away from the 12'2", I heard the squealing of brakes and the sound of metal on metal. I look to my left, where the overpass was, and lo and behold, there was a Western Express truck, trying to squeeze underneath the overpass. His tires were spinning, trying to get under this thing, of course all he was doing was peeling the top of his trailer back like a sardine can. :biggrin_2556:

Oh, S***!!!! I got on my CB, "Western Express, what in the f*** are you doing?" No answer. As I pulled away, I saw Newark's finest responding to the scene.

I'm pretty sure there were 12'2" warning signs from that direction and he chose to ignore them. Which means, sorry, man, You have ZERO common sense. IF, and I say again, IF that driver ever gets another driving job, I hope he'll be looking closer at low clearances...pun intended.
