Sitting and waiting for a trailer repair at the terminal in Springfield, MO. Kraft decided to load my load on the oldest POS trailer they had. Tandems won't slide and the reefer is leaking coolant. Reminds of of the old Great Dane trailers we had when I started here, only worse.

As to opti idol. I am able to deal with it when it is cold outside.
But when it is hot outside when it shuts down it gets warm, and rather rapidly!

When cold outside I go to sleep with it off. And do not notice when it comes on because I am asleep.

When warm outside its really hard for me to fall asleep with the engines making all that racket and vibration.

Oddly enough, when I pulled a reefer, with the reefer running constant I was able to sleep very well. The fact that it was a ThermoKing helped a lot. Carrier reefers are nasty sounding.

I've Been bellowing for a truck with an APU or that will idol or both.

I'll either get a truck like that pretty soon or have a different job.

 

Btw I have tried everything to get the truck just to idol.
Nothing works. Locking only trailer brakes, All manor of fooling with the cruise control, Tried to fool hood open mechanism to make it think that somebody was working on it.

Nothing.!!!!
