Everyone new on here asks the same questions...over and over. For no other reason than to show peeps some reality...here is a list of my gross pay since starting with Swift...this provides a time line and allows you to see how pay varies and flows.
Also for a time reference...I started at a local C.C. on May 23 thru June 16 with no pay coming in and at a cost of $3600.00. It took another 2 weeks to find a company to go with...(SWIFT...YEA!) Then orientation for 3-4 days.. all with no pay check coming in. Then another 2 weeks to get hooked up with mentor...again all with no pay. My hire date was July 22, 2010....and as you can see below..that is when the pay started for me as a trucker.
Not included in my gross pay is the money Swift gives back to me for my schooling...nice bonus every month.
Also if you pay attention to the weekly totals you should be able to determine the weeks that were hometime...lol...kills a check.
It is a process...hope this helps someone thinking about this as a job.

Just factored in my next check...which will be the last check in March.....$856.34....which means I am on pace to get to $40,000 for the year.....figuring the first 3 months is 1/4 of total if I keep the same pace.
I divulge these numbers...and they are real...for newbies considering driving for Swift. I am sure some go getters are making more and probably folks with experience who know the ropes do well...but I am a newbie and at this point just trying to set realistic goals for myself...once I hit the ceiling as a company guy ..then it will be time to consider other ways to increase income...maybe lease or see what other companies have to offer. But it is a learning experience almost everyday and learning to work the system is the way to maximize your potential.
So whatever a recruiter or your "freind" or some guy in a truckstop has been telling you ...these are real facts and up to the minute.Rattlebunny, Surfer Joe, Rotten and 2 others Thank this. -
Good enough for me, i'm set for orientation next week so im excited!

My uncle did one full year with swift out of Denver...They worked his so hard they pracitically ran him to China and back... he ended up parking the truck and walking away from it all.
His complaints were paying for his own food..and the $10 showers.. -
To bad that is gross,
but you are doing alot better than some folks.Hamshoe Thanks this. -
Showers don't cost...just get your fuel at the same truck stop chain you like your showers at! 50-75 gallons (depending on the truck stop) gets you one shower credit...so where is the cost to the driver on that? and if he was fueling at the terminals...every terminal with Swift has shower facilities.Dennis the Menace and Hamshoe Thank this. -
I agree food should be free like on Star Trek-- just tell the replicator what you want and voila! I never pay more than $9 bucks for a shower....Hamshoe and otherhalftw Thank this. -
hahaha good one! Free food???? Come on now! I make more in the Casino's than I do with Swift! Just kidding! I am doing pretty good starting to average around $800 to $900 gross. This will be my best week already have 1400 miles and it's only Thursday! Should do about 3400 this week plus I have a sweet driver UN load that took me only 20 minutes!!!
Oh not counting the $1000 I have now won in three casinos. Good for me to stop at a Casino for their Buffet and then pop a ten in the dollar machine.scottied67 and Hamshoe Thank this. -
