OK, I don't understand something. Why would anyone admit on a public forum their intentions to cheat on the HOS? We're not that anonymous! We have had drivers fired or hassled about comments posted here. So why admit an intention to break the law? Keep that to yourself, or at least don't post it! You might as well send a message over the QC.

Yeah, I'm exagerrating with that last bit, but please, people use some common sense! Learn from others' mistakes.

Looks like Luse either went to bed or turned off the lights so I'd think he's not home and go away...

Well at 1.75 hours away from a perfect 10 hour break, Rent A. Cop comes knocking on my door and tells me I need to vacate the premises. I say, nope can't do it bro. He calls the cops on me lol. Two cruisers and 4 cops show up. They had me lit up like a Christmas tree. I had my little green book in my hands, and was using big words like United States Department of Transportation lol. Finally they asked what would be an equitable solution. I said escort me to that Dollar Tree parking lot .75 miles away the security guard wants me to go to. NO problem.
Can you imagine how bad it will be if the HOS gets changed?

Jeez....no need to complicate things like that! Just move next time and save everybody a headache. It's only 3/4 mile.

Either that or take the 8/2 split and git on down the road.

    But.....

    Well played. :yes2557:

I think he played it really well. He had state officials sanction his HOS-violation, essentially making him immune from prosecution :)

I should mention my 14 ran out while docked and lumpers unloading. That's my bad for accepting a load so close to the 14 like that.
On the other hand, the other day my DM calls and says I have HOS problems and need to acknowledge via mac42 on the QC. So I have that in the back of my mind, " no more log violations". However when I log onto the swift portal there are no log violations listed, nothing in the emails my DM sends me or evidence of log violations.

My safety go to person says the little 15 minute violations that the computer finds, Swift pays about $10 bucks to the DOT for those and we get slapped on the wrist for it. If DOT finds the violation before Swift does, you're talking thousands of dollars in fines. She also said if you can keep your violations about 5% or less they just let you be pretty much. This is why I didn't really want to just drive down the road past the 14th hour. I've done it many times before and just wrote "Safe Haven" under the city, state line and never got in trouble for it. I'm still learning what I can get away with out here lol

You don't have to log anything that's under seven minutes. Moving from one parking spot to another less than a mile away doesn't even need to be flagged. It goes in your off-duty line because you are L/O and you're moving for your own purposes, not because Swift told you to. That's how I make my way to Walmart sometimes. If it's for personal stuff, it's off duty.

I thought about that, I actually did that the other day in Los Angeles, logged off duty to move 2/10ths of a mile during a ten hour break because I was in a paid parking truck stop unknowingly (guy was banging on my door to tell me the guy who rents this spot is on his way now). I thought that might have been the cause of the HOS problem my DM told me I was on safety hold for until I acknowledged with a certain code number on the QC that released me.

Ask your DM what it's about. I doubt it's because you moved 2/10 of a mile. If it is, you need to have a sit-down with someone in Safety (at any terminal) and dispute it.

I had violations....for being in one place while my QC said I was 30 minutes away. That was before I got a new antenna for my QC. Had to sit down with Dave in Albuquerque. Nice guy. They had me violated.....er...that just doesn't sound right.... I had violations for over my 14 on three occasions. After I disputed those because they were legal splits, they were removed from my record. Along with four "questionable speed" entries. You really need to know why you signed that so you can either correct it or get it removed.
