I've had very good luck with the Petro shops that I've dealt with...But I watch them do the work.

This was the first time I've ever had trouble with Petro.

Redd, I thought this was caused by something recent was why I made my comment. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'll go sit back down in my corner and be quiet :biggrin_25522:

I'm guessing the wrench was dropped into the fan shroud at on time or another. And it was riding so peicefully until I hit a bump, unlodged it from it's hiding spot, the fan grabbed it, & tossed it all around.

How long it's been there is anyones guess.... It could have been there 5 years as far as I know.

    The truck is running.....

So far I have personally went & bought $1856.92 in parts on my own to avoid the 40% markup if Petro went & got them. $106.78 on the rental pick up (that Toyota Tundra is a quick little thing). $221.01 on gasoline for my San Antonio/El Paso round trip. $20.00 taxi ride for a total of $2204.71.

Now I'm just waiting on them to finish the Petro bill..... They still have to top off my transmission before they can bill it out. I'm guessing $1400 in misc shop fees, parts, & labor. I wonder how close I am to that figure?

The closest radiator for my truck was in San Antonio... This all went doen in El Paso. Sure, I could have paid $300 for them to ship me the radiator & recieve it Tuesday.... Or rent a car, get it myself, & be fixed today? To me it was a no brainer.
