Free Honey Nut Cheerios, Kix (yuck) and Fiber One with honey nut clusters( double ick) While supplies last at the KC yard thanks to an over zealous forklift operator and a severly overcrowed sleeper.

Wish you the best. When you find that company that we're all looking for, I hope you'll let us know who it is. I'd be happy to mention you for their recruitment bonus when I join.

Maybe he will start up his own trucking company and provide the perfect working enviroment for every whining, complaining, belly acing self serving truck driver in the country. Until he finds out just how fast he will go out of business for not micro managing that discontent bunch of "nothing is good enough for me" drivers. God forbid they only make 47cpm. Who cares if a massive segment of the nations work force cant' t even find a job of any kind.

Perhaps a reality check is in order.

I was going to Crete, but decided against it (at least for now). Until they go to e-logs and drivers have some feedback as to how their miles are, I think I'll wait right here.

He doesn't need to. There are companies (usually not the large ones) that still treat their drivers with respect. And calling drivers names because they aren't content to bend over and say, "Yes sir, may I have another" like you do isn't going to change anything. I think one of the biggest causes of the work environment degrading is drivers having no self esteem and just accepting unacceptable circumstances.

Companies have policies that they expect drivers to follow. That is the drivers responsibility. But drivers many times do not demand that the company fulfill their responsibilities.

If a company has too many trucks for their freight base (as most large companies do) that is management's fault. Hire less drivers or bounce me to where the freight is.

If a company doesn't charge detention, they have an obligation to get behind a shipper's ### and get that unpaid driver out of there. If they didn't do it, I did it for them.

Shaffer was a decent company when I joined. It went downhill fast. The fact that a 15 year driver that used to love the company now feels the way he does and wants to leave should tell you something. But if you want to sit around an rationalize while you are getting it in the back pipe, that's your choice. Just don't criticize the drivers who are smarter than you and figured it out sooner.

Amen Brother, I'm glad to see that there is someone else besides me that's on this forum that is getting treated like this.

I caught Tim(in op's) lying to me...sent load offer w/2 stops, 400 miles, 2 days. The 1st stop delivered at 8 am the next morning off of I-94 within the city limits of Chicago, but since I had just run from SC to Findlay, OH in little over a day, I really didn't have the hours to make the run, but he told me to do my best. And that we would t'call the 2nd stop in Romeoville....I told him that any delays at all would result in being late, and going into that area would put me in the heart of rush hour traffic, so delays should be expected. Well the pu address on the q/comm was I-75 x-122....that's it. There was an address in comments, but no way to find the place, and since my Blackberry was acting up...I had no clue as to where this place was, it took me over an hour to get them to send me any type of directions to the place...turns out I was picking up the load from a driver who's truck just got out of the shop, who had sent in directions to the place before going in the shop...but when I asked op's why I was put on this...both of us had to drive the same loaded miles, and both had to take a break before delivery...why me? I was told I was the best hope for delivery, I guess the favoritism is back, and this driver was a favorite...After delivering, 2 hours late (and to find out that they had never gotten the alleged message that I was going to be late from Crete), I msg'd op's that I was headed for Romeoville, and asked for the T'called miles so I could keep track...I was informed that there was no plan to T'call, and I was to deliver as dispatched...in review of the miles on the original dispatch...nothing was set up from the beginning....Which resulted in several less-than-complimentary messages sent to op's. And an offer by me to duct tape over the Crete logo, to be replaced by a SWIFT-II logo since we are starting to be treated like them...but I got no response taking me up on my offer. So I ended up having a 2200 mile week...and this week isn't going much better. I am on the edge of boiling over again.

HMMMNN, I must be working for a dirrerent Crete! Kinda like when i joined the army, I wanted the one you see on the TV commercials. All this complaining about everything Crete makes me wonder how can I be so happy here? Oh I know,I get paid what I think is fair and am treated well. Crete is just like ANY other company, they do what's best for the company and some time's employee's don't like the change. Remember one thing the grass isn't alway's greener on the other side

Roadie, it's all about perspective. Guys that come from Werner or Swift, etc. are going to think that Crete is the bee's knees. But if you look at guys who have been at Crete a while, you will see that they once thought it was a good company. It has changed.
