Are Prime's company drivers paid by the mile?

Yup! They have to hustle... kinda! You just have to finesse the throttle with those heavy loads to make it work.

Used to be 65 for Swift O/Os and L/Os... of course, it was also 60 for a company truck with a solo driver, and 62 for a company truck which was operated by a team. I can remember what big news it was when Swift's company trucks were turned up to 65 - hell, I was in Iraq at the time, and still heard about it. Made me wish I'd been there for it at the time, because I remember being passed by EVERYTHING as a company driver. But I didn't go back to OTR after my deployment, but I did end up in a truck which could run in the 70s, even with 4.33 rears.
Now, I have a truck that's been left wide open, and I've never bothered putting it to the test. Had I been in such a truck back when I was green and in my early 20s, I'm sure I would've.

Several terminals have signs about no gratuites for parts or service people. No food etc.

So you bribe them with pie? :biggrin_2559:

It made my day to receive that bit of news. Then my mood worsened at the yahoos who acted as if that's all there is to it, and even more so listening to the conspiracy theorists and their, "well, I think he's been in a freezer for ten years" nonsense.

Unfortunately for bin laden, they ran out of virgins some time ago so they are issuing celestial pigs to the dead in terrorist heaven now. Ham, bacon and sausage served 3 times daily in Davy Jones' Locker. Seal Team 6 dipped all their bullets in bacon grease before they stormed the compound. Poor bin laden's soul is now tainted in more ways than one.
