1.5 weeks without a check engine light... till today.

So.. edu 128 ia a general engine fault.
you need to pull the additional codes by pressing the black button on the dash
Until it says diag, then hold it to go into read mode.
then press it a few times for differnt info.
Then look up the code(s) for the fault.
mine said 'pdl 132' - low air flow.

There is a great pdf doc from mathews buses that walks u though it and lists the fault codes. I tried to attach it, but can't seem to from my droidx.

    Do a google seach for:
    Dash retrieved fault codes

I found that after talking to the shop.....
    They said,
'we don't have a manual that lists fault codes. U need to come to a terminal
And hook it up to the computer"
Me: but I am over a days drive from the closest one
Them: well drive it as far as u can and if it breaks down call Onroad

    Hello Everyone,

Getting ready to fly to Phoenix this afternoon. Get to stay at the hotel for 2 nights. In the morning head on over to the terminal and decide which truck I am going to end up with. Volvo or KW. Want to see how the Volvo is set up inside first as far as options. Not really keen on the color, but can deal with it. Also tomorrow see if I can get reimbursed for the hotel. Not real sure on that. They wanted me to fly in at 9 a.m. Monday morning, but that was not going to work on my end. Would have needed to leave for the airport here at 2 to get a flt out at 5.

Be safe out there. Will post a pic when I decide. Would like to find out how to add to signature. Everytime I try, it says that it is there, but when I preview my signature, do not see it.

    Hello Everyone

Well, made my decision today. I took the KW-660 SS. Hope that the pic shows up in my signature. It was another day of learning alot, and trying to process it all. Only mistake, I did not have my checkbook, so will have to wait until I get home and then fax or email them a voided check so that they can start my direct deposit again. No, it can not transfer from company side to O/O. I am completely new in the system. Even a new Driver code. Tried to leave the terminal today and gave them my old code, and then had to look up my new one since the old one is not in the system anymore.

There was also one other thing that I learned today and that was purchasing fuel and being attached to the trip. I was under the impression that the purchase would stay with the trip. I was told that I was wrong. Examply, lets say I get a load on Monday that delivers to CA on Thursday. All the fule that I purchase for the trip will be deducted on the next settlement, even though I have not been paid for the load. If it is a 1800 mile load, and all that I have turned in for the week is 1200 miles, then I belive that the next settlement, I will be in the hole. Being paid for 1200 miles, but purchased fuel for 3000 miles. Maybe I am wrong in my thinking, but that was the way that they explained to me this morning. Maybe some others here can help me out here and explain it better to me.

Also found out that in 60 days, have to take another test. After reading another manual. It is only a 10 question test.

Well, already have a PTA for the morning. Now just want to see where they are going to send me. My DM knows that I am not going to be home for 3 weeks, since no payment for that time, so lets run all of the miles that I can, and hope that not right back East.

One last thing that I found out, and that is getting the new trucks with the DEF. It is not set up on our COMDATA cards yet, so for now we have to take it out of personal funds, like personal credit card. They are working on it. As far as getting DEF in a terminal, we need to get a R/O. PHX is good about it. I have been told at the Columbus terminal, we have to drop our trailer, then go and set in the shop line so that they can put it in. I have been told that Columbus is getting ready to put a tank in so that we can take care of it when we get fuel. Now ust wondering about the other terminals. This brings up another question, as far as the company trucks that they are getting in, will the Fuel route include a stop that needs the DEF. How will they know.

Everyone, be safe and take care.

I think the person told you wrong info about fuel not being attached to the trip. Injun had a thread going where she actually called someone who knew and explained that fuel is only charged to the trip for the week it falls under.

In your example if you picked up a load on Monday bought fuel Monday, delivered on Thursday, the fuel charge would show up for the following week ie 2 Tuesdays away.

Now, it used to be that way-- a lot of drivers would not fuel up on Wednesdays because it was the last day of the pay period and could be the difference between a negative check and a positive.

As far as that test in 60 days, you can take it at any kiosk or even on your computer (Swift University), open book style lol.

Yes, I talked directly to Payroll about it. I was told the fuel stays with the trip.

    I will test the statement.

OK today being Wednesday and the end of the miles week, my load delivers tomorrow (Thursday-- new miles week) I got fuel this morning and just checked my settlement statement online, that fuel purchase is not showing up for next Tuesday's pay (as it should not).

In other news, my settlement for the coming Tuesday will be in negative territory as it was two Tuesdays ago. Today I sent a message asking to have a T-call today and redispatch and deliver ontime tomorrow as scheduled so I could get some kind of paycheck. Answer on QC "We can't do that, you must deliver this load".

OK so I thought maybe they think I am trying to get out of this load or maybe it's called something other that t-call so I will call. Anwer: "didn't you understand my message? I said we can't tcall loads en route like that anymore, we get in trouble".

I'm mad now, my delivery is only 90 miles from home, I will be going home tomorrow after delivery to seriously think about my relationship with Swift.

I've had a Wednesday delivery or two not show up on my settlements. It's irritating when that happens.

How did you get this week's settlement statement already? Mine never gets out until Friday on the website. Are you maybe looking at last week's? Not telling you you're wrong...just asking.

And sometimes, customers will accept loads early. I delivered a load yeasterday that wasn't due until 9am this morning.

It might be tie for a different DM. I'm still not hearing "t-call for pay" gets anyone in trouble as long as you make on-time delivery. Sounds like your DM is just lazy.

    scottied67 and Rotten Thank this.

I log onto the portal every day and review things like Pending Pay to see the estimated pay for the next pay period. Usually lags about a day behind your actual empty calls and often a week behind on detention pays and lumper reimbursements. But yeah, I'm seeing that my pay will be less than zero Tuesday May 17.

I thought about delivering early but it was too far from Blythe CA to Oakland at 55 MPH for 11 hours. Would have gotten there after hours and no known (to me) safe place to park.

My DM is on vacation now, I know the staff is shorthanded now, that could be a contributing factor as you have over 100 drivers spread amongst the rest of the remaining DM's in the office. They even sent out a QC message asking us to not have any problems this week because there weren't enough DMs in the office to handle it.
