"hey driver, you have a nail in that trailer tire, need to get it fixed" the point was right on top of his head LOL

Let me tell ya something. I pull for Prime, and not only does Prime take a lot of c.r.a.p. around here but I do as well for being even associated with them. Unfairly in my opinion.

But there is one thing about this so-called evil, kinda-mega-carrier. If I send a QC message to road assist indicating I have a jacked up tire in the way that either the OP or PanhandlePat described, the answer I get back will be - and I guarantee this - the location code of either the nearest tire shop if I can legally run the tire or an ETA of when road service will be out to deal with it.

If you're driving for an outfit that suggests you should run a bad tire at the risk of being ticketed and accruing CSA points for yourself and the carrier - you need to quit, and go find a carrier with the balls to stand behind their equipment. And I'll guarantee you something else... the day that Prime directs me to run a bad tire, will be the last day I drive for them.

Right now the administration in their highway bill wish list is the suggestion that the FMCSA should be empowered to revoke your CMV driving privileges if you collect too many CSA points. Running a flat tire is one of the infractions that will get you 30-unweighted CSA points. That's 90 points during the first year. On one stinking tire. And I'll bet ya that when this little gem gets enacted (because it will) that one tire will probably be enough to get your privileges revoked for 30 or 60 days - which means your carrier will fire you. It would behoove you to get the balls to stand up to your management now.

my company has no problem fixing stuff. matter O fact, when I left the coop I went straight to Bosselmans and replaced 4 trailer tires LOL the one with the nail and 3 others that were down to 3/32.
Point I was making was you can pick up a nail at ANY TIME going down the road.
hell, I could have picked the dang thing up pulling into the scale for all I know :biggrin_255:

That's right. Bovine excrement happens. And the LEO (you're so-called "azzhat") was just doing his job.

P.S. - when was the last time you checked that tire before you picked-up the nail?

I am not a fan of the CSA program, but it is attitudes like this that got us CSA.
