I don't think I would make a very good weather Channel reporter,....

I would want to dig in and help people and not tell the story,...

However I do understand it is their job to report,.......

I'd have to have my hands in there too... I could never give the report. I'd be telling my own cameramen to put down the camera and start digging.

Big Don and Brickman Thank this.

I would be conflicted, cuz people need to see this, and yet my urge to help would tugg at my heartstrings. filming it is important, talking about it aint, so yes if I was reporting it, I would shutup and dig, if I was filiming it, I would keep on filming

I just talked to my mom who lives there, sounds like its nasty from 7th street to 35 is closed, trucks tossed arond at flying J at i44, she lives right next to that.
(nother reason i want to get trucking, get to see her more than once every 7 years)
She said the radio is saying so far 300 dead, although i cant find any confirmation online yet. I did read about a possible explosion at the hospital, and a gas leak some where in town and fires.
I have not seen pictures yet, looking for some online, but will probably be a while.
I grew up there, know the town well, hard to belive that much of it is gone.

CNN just reported 24 dead. Showed the Flying J, which is pretty much destroyed but the actual building was standing and a couple of overturned trucks on I-44.

FYI in case anyone needs to find out

Damage has been widespread across the south side of the city, and many telephone and power lines are down.
The American Red Cross has set up a 'Safe and Well' system. Those living in Joplin can register their names and current location, and family members can search for names to check on their loved ones.
