Some of your "specific" questions regarding contracts are better suited for the administrative folks at USA. You will get a better answer that's certainly more accurate. Just make sure Dave whatever you do, don't sign anything until you understand the terms, if any.

WV posted in another thread, he's having a rough go right now. Seems like alot of drivers are. Not sure why, me included. The rain falls on the just and the unjust, just roll with it and its bound to get better.

just picked up a 800 mile run for the weekend puts me at 2600 and change for the week left out tuesday from hometime
-
I've had a bad past few weeks...I have taken a 34hr. restart for 4 weeks, took 24 hours last week, and picked up a load today than I'm 30 minutes from and it doesn't deliver until Monday...I can't win...
I have had good weeks, as far as miles goes, until the last week and this one... -
Some of the stuff on here(not this post, but in general) is dated. I am currently looking into USA Truck and wanted to get some good feedback from current drivers about the company, equipment, and home time. Any information would be helpful. What does the road test consist of?
-
Road test is easy.
Either you can drive the truck or you can't...Some can't and fake it real good and sneak by.
Hometime is changing now, and I have no definite answer yet what their plan is for that change. From what I was told, you will drive 2weeks and go home on the weekends, if you're OTR. They're starting regional routes and those you will be home every weekend.
Equipment is luck of the draw. If you get a truck that don't break down consider yourself lucky. I have a good truck that has broke down once, but it has ac problems that no dealer can fix and it goes out every 1-2 weeks... -
WRIGHTRACING, thank you for the information. I'll post my decision/progress later.

Sorry it isn't the best advice, but I promise it isn't as bad as some of the other drivers that work for other companies I have heard stories from. I am ok with the job and will give them my year. At the end of that year if things are looking up I will stay. If they get worse I will look elsewhere. Any sensible man/woman would do the same. I don't hate my job, but it is frustrating sitting around and playing on the internet all day. If I got paid by the hour I would be excited, but I get paid by the mile and have 65 for the day and have been on the clock for over 5hours.
I do have some good weeks, and then some that fluctuate. They just changed our qualcomm system and I don't think it came out with the bugs worked out. Sucks, but hopefully it will get betteraceupsleeve Thanks this.
