As a fellow tax payer that shares your view on paying our own pay, thank you and good luck with everything.

Stay a year driving for Prime after going solo-qualified (we call it A-seat,) and the tuition is 100% forgiven. You might want to call recruiting, tell them where you're at employment-wise, and ask what will it take to get you to the point that they'll let you in. "Cheryl" will work with you, and I understand "Gracie" is pretty good too.

Thanks! :) I'll try for one of them, not sure who they assigned me to, couldn't understand the name on her voicemail, but she hasn't contacted me or returned my phone call so I'll try again, maybe ask for one of them :)

Do any of you know an extention? or do I just have to ask for her? I'd like to call and leave a message but no one answers after hours obviously :)

Ok ummmmmmmmmm Im knew as yall can tell, however I went through Primes drivin school and have to say Im dern glad I did. My wife went through Stevens school and spent 5 months gittin in her 5 weeks of trainin before she went solo. PLUS I was on her truck with her when she finally did go solo and I can tell ya now, STAY AWAY FROM STEVENS!!!!! Dispatchers dont care, you git hosed on yer detention AND lumper pay ifn you git writin reciepts and $.26 a mile?? What a friggin joke!! :biggrin_25516:

Go to Prime. Good school, not many trainin companies make you go our fer 50k and believe you me, that 50K is well worth the time that a GOOD trainer will put into you.

Keep in mind though, STAY AWAY FROM PRIME LEASE PROGRAM. Yaint $$ and decent miles?? Stay company and make some. Ima lease driver and had to put my wife back on the truck with me runnin team in order to make any dern $$. Im actually lookin into to goin to Knight Ref just so I can make a paycheck :biggrin_25523:

    Anywho just some friendly advice

    Wow, thats BS...

Went through Stevens school, went solo, went Alliance, and was with them for about 15 months... Spent a total of 8 weeks in training, which is what they require... Went pre-alliance, miles sucked. Went Alliance and had many 3000+ mile weeks... The last 2.5 months I was with them I ran Kraft dedicated and averaged 2800 miles a week, 90% drop & hook, and home weekly...
I drove for 9yrs back between 90-99 for companies like JB, Arctic Express, Watkins Express, and Dick Simon... Stevens, while they have a bunch of bs to put up with, is one of the better companies I've worked for with Dick Simon being at the top of the list...
But everyone has a different experience... The persons attitude plays alot in what type of exp they wind up having...

lol, another one post wonder spoutin BS. Detention is automatic as long as you follow the procedure. Do circle of service correctly. Its always there and I dont even have to ask for it.

Stevens makes it VERY clear to drivers what info has to be on a lumper receipt. If she didnt make sure it was all there then thats her fault, not Stevens. And the .26 per mile the first 30 days solo ... she was told what the pay was before she agreed to it didnt she? lol
