Hello everyone...
Yes, I'm convinced working is good for the soul, being productive is good for the soul, balance is good for the soul...
If you can get all three, your lucky...like George Jetson...he had all three...he had
1. work
2. He was productive at work, as well as at home with a lush family..
3. And he had balance...work, home life, recreational life...
I know it sounds strange to those who already have that...but for some of us, we've been chasing that simple recipy of happiness our whole lives...
My adult life has been so irregular, that now, more than anything else, I just want that 1,2,3 balance....
And it all starts with job where I put in a honest days work, and go home before 5:00 pm...
Start at 06:30 am, and off between 3-4 pm....and a decent hourly wage to boot...
I don't miss over the road at all...and if you go back to post....
Memory lane...
Go back to post #323 page 33, and you'll see where I took that Leap out of the airplane...it was a symbolic leap...but I took it...
I'll re-post it after this so you can see...but I took that leap...not knowing the future...driven only by desire that I needed a change...and it's amazing how it has all come to preminition...
I'm not saying my life is perfect now...not even...but what I'm trying to demonstrate is if you want something bad enough, go for it...I did not get this over night...it's been struggle and uncertainty day in and day out...it hasn't been easy...but it's almost like you can will want you want bad enough, and get it...as long as your motives are pure...I think God will honor that...
My life is far from perfect, I'm far from perfect...I have many deficits to over come...but at least being home daily, working a regular m-f job, off on weekends, and still earning a decent income, will greatly help me restore some normality in my life...
Never give up on your dreams...that's all I'm saying...

Trucking Jobs in 30 seconds
Every month 400 people find a job with the help of TruckersReport.

I took that leap...way back in 12-01-2010...thats when the above thoughts were posted...I took that leap, totally uncertain...not knowing if the parachute would open...but I took it anyways...cause at the time it was like 'death or liberty'...and I felt my soul dying...I was unhappy being cooped up in that truck 24/7, cut off from everything that made life worth living...always dirty, always parked alone at some gravel covered truck stop parking lot...
I made the leap...
I write this only to encourage others of you out there...
take from it what you want...next week things could change for me, for the worst or better...but that's not the point...the point is stop doing what you don't love or like...'Get to living or get to dying'...later...
-
I wish you all the best.
Do what you like and like what you do.
-
Thanks...thanks so much...
Who knows what the future holds for any of us...but I'll be here for you as long as I can...
I don't know you...but I know you have dreams...I know you were young once...your mind was free from corruption once...and once you were innocent...which enabled you to enjoy the simple things of life...
Live with me on this night...as the earth turns...

Step outside your normal realm, and join me in mine...let's celebrate life, together...as fellow habitators of this world some call earth...
Live...and live strong...for me....succeed for me...thrive for me, love for me...
And enjoy this song with me...outside of your normal realm...thank you...

Hope everyones doing fine today...
Haven't much to say right now, as the day's still very young...
I'm earning my keep, and it feels good, it also feels good to be able to drive a truck, be it a small one, and not have to worry about Logs!!
Not having to fill out logs frees up so much time and hassle...
I've done it all folks, watched as my trucking career has evolved...been there done that...mountain driving in the winter, desert driving, city driving, over weight loads on the back roads...(one time I had to take back roads from GA to Maryland cause when I left the potato farm I was way over weight...)
Actually that was my fault cause I filled both tanks...I was already like at 79 something...and just wasn't thinking...
At this stage in my life I just find class B driving a lot more enjoyable...pulling into a regular gas station to get fuel is awesome...(diesel pumps)...
Bottom line, I put in my time, I started trucking younger than most...and it was a blast back in the day...Wouldn't change the first 5 years of it for nothing...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fmedia.bigoo.ws%2Fcontent%2Fgif%2Ftransport%2Ftransport_115.gif&hash=28a4fb84a0e9f5092d5984baa4a8155d)
Back then, you couldn't pay me to stay home...
Back in the day, I use to work for Werner Ent...yes the dreaded Werner...
But I worked for them back when they were a truly wonderful cutting edge company...
1. You could take your off time anywhere in the continental United States...
So working for them was like being on a perminant vacation...
2. At the time, their equiptment was new and modern, they had the large classics..
3. At the time, their terminals were newer and better than most...they set an industry standard, expecially the one in Omaha, which was new at the time...
The one with the large weight room and free video games, and company store and large olympic sized showers and restrooms...
4. When you were off, you could dead head as far as you needed to get home, and they did not complain or gripe
It was just a different company back then, a different time...and I thoroughly enjoyed it...they, Werner Ent, had nothing to do with me loosing my love for trucking...
5. Back then you take take up to 30 days off, no questions asked, and simply come back and be re-assigned a truck...
They really had a lot of lee way back then, which prevented driver burn out...
Then suddenly, they just changed...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fsmilys.net%2Fengel_teufel_smilies%2Fsmiley3349.gif&hash=76bb5d41f83862e8a544d436887aafaa)
Yes, something happened to the company I use to love so much...
I haven't worked for them in ages...but from what I read on this forum...I'm like 'What the heck happened'...
There was a time when Werner would never be mentioned in the same breath as Swift or JB or CR England...
I'm shocked and appauled by the comments I read about Werner...and Knight, and others I've worked for in the past...
Is it the drivers or companies that are changing? I don't know...I suppose both...
Back then you didn't have idle limitations, could fuel where you wanted to, no trailer tracking, when at home could bob tail your truck wherever...
But I suppose companies were loosing a lot of money like that, being so generious...
Back then I actually think all of those companies were run tight, from Schneider to Knight to Werner and many others...
It's like they all just suddenly changed at once...and took on different natures...
That's why if you notice, I never complain about the companies I work or worked for, I only complain about the lifestyle of being away...once I got tired of it...
I've never really had issues with any of the companies I worked for...it wasn't their fault I got burned out...wasn't there fault at all...they did what they were suppose to do and earned me money...and it was a good relationship for a while...
And then all this Dac and 10 work history and other crap came into play...and begin to put strain between drivers and companies...
All these tech companies trying to implament their technologies, by having dot mandate their products...
Anyways...for a thread where I started off not having much to say, this sure has gone on long...
Continued later...

Yes, I consider fast food my enemy...for many reasons...
But to top off a already rained on, poor custimor service afternoon, I purchased a $5.85 cent fast food meal...
It tasted like slop, got no nutritional value from it, and wasted nearly $6 bucks...
And on top of that I fell for that 'super size' rip off...they don't supersize nothing...nothing that counts anyways...
All you get is a bit more sugar water for an extra fifty cents or a dollar. It's a rip off...
And the young teens working in those places slap the food together like mud pies...
For that equivelant money, I could of had a nice steak or fresh fish dinner, or 4 slices of liver and onions or a lot of things...
I rarely do that, waste my money on fast food like that anymore, and it bugs me how many people, expecially women, I see in those places...
They should know better...
Anyways...I think I'll start ordering stuff on-line...my experience with custimor service today just wore me thin...
Employees in stores who don't even know what they carry...
All you get anymore is attitude...makes you wonder why stores even use humans anymore...why not robots...replace every human who can't smile and be nice, with a robot...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fth14.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa303%2FrangerXtra%2FRandom%2Fth_robot.gif&hash=6e25dbbbb4d6b1921b66e150bb568456)
Moods and attitudes, that's all you seem to deal with anymore...
You drive around, putting miles on your vehicle, wasting fuel, just for a store to have everything except the one item your looking for.
Oh well...
One more thing...Glenn Beck is starting his own Network..
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fimg2.newser.com%2Fsquare-image%2F119457-20110526050411%2Fglenn-beck-web-channel-to-be-called-gbtv.jpeg&hash=ee2f3ed8aa70a8e63050028e425ef5dc)
GBTV...just heard him say it on his radio show...won't premier until 9-12 though...
Kind of like 'The 700 Club'...or 'Oprah' network...
Yes, he'll have his own network now...to say whatever he wants, he'll be the 'boss'...and set the tone...no one will be able to control him anymore...
This will be interesting...
I sorta liked him early on in his broadcast career, he was much more layed back and comedic...
But recently he's become a lot more apocaliptic...religious...
But when you have his type of money, you can write your own ticket...
He earned it though...rose up through the talk radio circut, build an audience, and got sponsorship...
Oh well, got some more tasks to perform...back soon... -
Over all, today was ok I guess...can't find any good stations on the radio...
I need to get my satellite radio up and running again...regular radio is so bland...so pop...
I'm rarely in a pop music mainstream world...
Can't stand the new whiney music...how come rich, middle class successful artist whine so much in their songs...like they have it so bad..heck they just sold 1 million copies, they should be happy, instead of putting off this depressant sounding voice and tone...
If your a young beautiful chick, you should sing like your happy, like it's spring time, instead of singing like your on the edge of suicide...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fus.cdn2.123rf.com%2F168nwm%2Fffppro%2Fffppro0808%2Fffppro080800042%2F3421488-pretty-female-singer-playing-guitar.jpg&hash=8f2d4b495c010b00d25adf4274823dc3)
They sing with this certain sad tone about them that I just don't get...and it doesn't resignate with me at all...not one bit...
They havn't done anything, haven't had to over come anything, but yet sing, and write songs like their life is about to implode...
I just don't get it...
Then you have the R&B crap...where all they sing about is 'love'...or 'betrayal'...
I can't stand any of it...again, they haven't done anything for me to admire them..the music and songs are so so centered around self...
Modern Urban R&B doesn't resignate with me at all...and shouldn't even use the R&B tag anymore...
The modern stuff I hear or avoid is not Rythmn and Blues anymore...it's simply urban pop...
And countries the same...just trendy, American idol, template songs, designed to appeal to shallow souls...
It's all simply fast food music....
Oh well...at least there's Youtube...I can at least track down old songs from the past that had meaning to me...
As you know I love all types of songs from the past...from the blues, to classic rock to classic soul to lounge music to jazz to classic country...and all things inbetween...
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNnnWfUpYGg&feature=related[/ame]
I like songs like this, from days gone by, when people just sang, they just sang...no fancy dance beats added, they just sang their hearts out..the songs were so pure and spiritual...
Oh how I miss those days gone by...before corporations dictated the kind and vibe to the extent they do today...
As a driver, this was one of the songs I use to love to sing...
I thought I sounded good, but others probablly thought differently...
Oh well...One more post after this before I begin busy work day tomorrow... -
Ok, as promised, one more post for the night...I have to get up at 5:30 am tomorrow...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nonstopgifs.com%2Fanimated-gifs%2Ffree%2Ffree-animated-gif-002.gif&hash=6558a77ae2000cbd41aee59b93be711b)
That's never fun...work or no work, I don't like waking up early...just not my style..
But those of us employed have no choice...so let's suffer together tomorrow...
Once I'm at work, and rolling, I'm fine...it's just that initial disruption of alarm clock...often times your in the middle of a real good deep dream or something...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.myemoticons.com%2Fimages%2Fhobbies-leisure%2Fsleeping%2Fdreaming.gif&hash=53136b41a16226ff7631cfbc1aa2b3e4)
When your suddenly and violently thrust back into this world by alarm clock...
Thrust back into a world of debt, poverty, or maybe even illness...it's such a disruption.
At least in your dreams you can be that Prince or Princess you always wanted to be, or the King or Queen...
At least in your dreams you can fly, skate on the clouds, interact with characters long gone in your life...
But once you wake up...reality smacks you in the face like a frozen sausage...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fv425%2FSpitfire70%2FFor%2520articles%2Fsausage.gif&hash=4b6b532f6f49655fe5b44686a48035ec)
It just seems unfair at times...
I really envy those who went to college long ago, and are in positions of career satisfaction...
What would really be career satisfaction with me, is if at 6:30 am tomorrow...I was waking up to pilot, to fly, one of these...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.simviation.com%2Fpageimages%2F717a.jpg&hash=f99d2e6ad38fc7786a0de4c529349ffc)
Yes, if I had made better decisions years ago, things would be different...
Don't get me wrong...I'm happy to be employed...but it's just a job...labour...no matter how you stack it up...it's just labour...I make the best of it though...but it's not my hearts desire...
In as far as trucking jobs go, yes...I don't mind it...but when you back up and look at the big picture...I'm just settling...like many of us are...
The ultimate job in the world to me, would of been to be a Naval Aviator...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fimages3.jetphotos.net%2Fimg%2F2%2F2%2F6%2F4%2F12305_1075635462_tb.jpg&hash=3cb954d730a31829965c030228ae304a)
Oh the prestige...the training...
Continued on next post...U4EA Thanks this. -
Look, it's late...gotta get up early...but must finish this thought...
To have been a Naval Aviator...can't think of another job or career I would of wanted more...
![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fimg.ehowcdn.com%2Farticle-page-main%2Fehow%2Fimages%2Fa04%2Fht%2F70%2Fnavy-pilot-spend-workday-800x800.jpg&hash=eed721bfc148aa93a18cb1fe24859683)
The best of the best, as far as I'm concerned...
I mean what exactly do you do with unfulfilled dreams?
Live them out through your kids??
Well what if you don't have any kids, then what?
What do you do with unfulfilled dreams?
What do you do with that energy?
Where does it go?
Anyways...when you don't do what you feel you were really meant to do, life, everything else, tends to feel anit-climactic at times...
Oh well...time to return to reality...
Good night folks...
U4EA Thanks this.
