Spent 2 1/2 hours monkeying around in the railyard today from a train blocking my way out, only to get to the outgate with my empty for them to tell me that they're shipping those out and I have to put it back.
    ,
That was after going back to the shipper this morning to get a load re-shifted after scaling out bad. Too much on drives.

Made it up to Green Bay and picked up my load taking my 10 at the Country Express in DePere, WI. Back down to Chicago in the morning.

I turned down a couple of load offers while I was waiting for a part to come in. Someone didn't take too kindly to it and my PTA was changed to 123111 2359 lol.

Turns out the part was less than the insurance deductible so I opted to buy the part out of pocket and cancel the insurance claim.

Just wanted to share my travails at Troutdale yesterday. Bobtailed in, needed an empty. Sent 5 prospects to my DM, said I'm attached to the 3rd one on the list. Have to move a trailer to get to it. No dispatch for hours and hours, finally go inside, they say that trailer is not mine to take so I give him the list he says I can have this T trailer.Go look and have to move another trailer just to get to it. Pull down the center aisle and got mousetrapped in there as the only way out would have been to back out the 10 foot wide space I came in there on. Looked at the situation, dropped my trailer and moved yet another one back a few feet and was able to squeeze into a space and made sure to stick way out in the path so someone wouldn't drop in front of my during the night. Lo and behold in the morning of course there was a trailer dropped blocking my easy path out, so had to drop again and move that trailer so I could get out. SLC ain't got nothin on Troutdale....

In the motel by Lancaster. Truck has been shopbound for a week, B-service, front springs and bushings, air and fuel leaks. Driving day cabs on the shuttle.

hey guys ... I drove solo for Swift for about a year but stopped OTR driving about 4 years ago. I've been told by a recruiter that I can come back to work there which I'm happy to hear. What I'd really like to know though is ... are most of you, on average, staying busy and getting enough miles? I understand that there are good weeks / months and not so good and I know that it does vary. I'm just trying to be reasonably sure that I'll be able to get by OK. If I'll be able to get enough miles, most of the time, I'd really like to come back to driving again. Thanks and hope to hear from ya!

Averaging 500 miles/day not including days off. Took three days last week and still cleared $800 after expenses.

But my information may not be useful since I'm not a Company Driver.

Preplanned on a little 230-mile shorty. It'll get me back to the hooch so I can get that 90-day inspection done. Maybe a PM too.
