It's trucking. Get used to it. If you want to listen to the local fauna go flip burgers. You can hang out with the bugs n' pre-burgers all you want.

Don't read me wrong...I wasn't laughing because of the name on your wagon. I was laughing about that little exchange with Dave. Would have been just as funny if it was Swift.

Why does a driver go out of his way to resent someone desiring a little peace and quiet? What does burger flipping have to do with just enjoying a quiet evening? And why does another truck have to park on top of you and idle when there were a gazillion other spaces available even on the same row, but just go down a little ways and give me some space please.
Besides I have not flipped hamburgers for a living since 1974. I just do it now for fun.:biggrin_25519:
I fully understand that when you park in a t/s that other trucks are going to land next to you, and hopefully not on top of you, or into you. Does not mean I have to enjoy it.

The guys up front biotch about noise from reefers, and want us to go to the back row. The guys in the back row biotch about the noise from reefers and want us to go to the front row. Tough.

Temperature controlled freight is a huge part of this business... if you want quiet go to a library. This is trucking, and its not for sissy's.

Personally I could do without all of the noise from idling, and the idiots with the jet-engine level noise from their home brew crap APUs. But ya know, its part of the business. Deal with it.

    Hayden, ID.

Here's something that kinda amazes me. After 5+ years of trucking, there are still places in this big beautiful country I have never been. But now there is one less, cause now I've been to Hayden, ID.

Gotcha. I'll probably run into him sometime. We'll both be needing service at the same shop sooner or later.

JD: It's closer to Canada than Alabama and shares a time zone with Maine. It's Northeast.

    And this:
is probably one of the most intelligent things you've ever said.
