i was laying in bed reading last night around 0200 when i got a pp to pick up a tcall and deliver at 0500. didn't bother going to sleep. after swerving my way to the next pickup 100 miles away this morning, i decided to nap. thank goodness for sleeper splits. still had enough hours afterword to get another 250 miles in for the day and felt like a million bucks.

Just finished reading the entire thread ... took three days of boring nights working here at the harbor on Cape Cod.

So, here goes. Right now, Hyannis Harbor, Harbormasters office. When big red rejoins the clouds and brightens the day for the rest of you I will be tucked into my bed in Yarmouth Port, MA dreaming dreams of the road and of once again gear jamming across the country with the rest of you good people. Until then thanks for keeping me company during the long nights protecting the harbor alone.

I'll be back out there soon. Gonna try to get into Swift once my obligation for this season at the Harbormaster's Office is complete. Till then ... I'll be lurking.

About to p/u in ID heading to Iowa. Lots of time on this one, which is good since my 70 is low. I don't like restarts, I'd rather keep running at least a few hours everyday. Unless I'm on hometime of course.

Minooka,IL about 1/2 mile from Macy's and deliver in the morning, then Costco load to West De Moines. Good week over all, ran through Vail pass and the tunnel twice (have family in CO I love it there) and have 3600 miles coming on next weeks check. Have a feeling they will be keeping me close to home this week so I can get to Gary on Monday for SDD class, that seems to be my punishment for my little incident a few weeks ago.

Well as last reported, I was in Sparks yard, got a pp tcalled loaded trailer right there to take to Lost Angeles. Accepted and jumped up in the bed as I didn't need to leave until the next morning early. Series of beeps, I figured all the load info and route etc. When I did check it later it was 'regrets, we've already sent that load southbound but here's another load with similar miles going to Idaho.' OK that's cool, accept, bobtail over to Petro next door and get a Bservice real quick and ask them to install my headlight assembly that I had bought after deer and jammed his head through the old one. (I'd been running around for a couple weeks with zipties holding the whole headlight assembly together). The mechanic trying to loosen the nuts off the studs, pulls the whole stud out of the fiberglass of the hood (2 of 4 studs), says 'sorry, no charge and I will not proceed, you need to go to a dealer'. So I get up here to Idaho Falls Kenworth, talk to the mechanic there he says, 'here have this free tube of Locktite', so I go out and installed the light on my own got nice and greasy but it didn't cost me a penny-- NICE.

Idaho Falls, got a load going to L.A. then on hometime, taking my son to see his paternal grandparents for a few days.

Oh and here's a pic of my Bobby Boofay style throttle stick and Abby asking, "Dad, can you run me over to the puppy park?"
