FYI, if your AC goes out, the company is required by law to put you into a hotel room for your mandatory break. If they refuse, just go by a scale or call the DOT and they will be up the companies backside so fast it will make your head spin.

I hope you're joking and don't really believe this to be fact? Otherwise you're so full of it your eyeballs have turned brown :biggrin_2559:

Next thing youll say is the TX rangers came out and arrested a DOT cop because he looked at you funny.

And I bet you believe guns in trucks are illegal too!!!! Sorry, but per the FMCSA they are required to provide you with a proper place to rest. You can not properly rest in 100 degree weather without an AC.

And no, the Texas Rangers have no control over DOT. The U.S. Marshalls have final jurisdiction as in it deals with Interstate Commerce!!!

You just eat rainbows and poop butterflies in your happy little world don't you.

Why don't you share with us the specific CFR that covers air conditioning?

It doesn't say anything about the AC, but it does say they must provide you with proper facilities for rest.

Of course, since I have almost 2 X the experience with this as you have, I must not know what I am talking about.

Just for #### and giggles. I did call the local office of the US Marshalls office in Oklahoma city, and ask them this very queston, that is the subject , and they just started laughing.

That's because the Marshal's office DOESN'T GET INVOLVED IN CRAP LIKE THAT! The Marshal's office has a very specific set of duties...investigating/resolving truckers problem whether real or imagined, serious or trivial is not among them. This is one of the oldest TTT (Trucker's Tall Tale) out there...my uncle (retired) worked for the Marshal's office, and he said they might get 10 of these calls a month and they had to talk a driver down saying there's nothing they can do.......and don't call about this again. You say they laughed when you called...call a second time and they won't be laughing, they'll be warning.
