It's called planning ahead. As a businessman, you understand that concept well. Not planning ahead for stuff like this is what breaks a lot of lease drivers and new owner-operators.

This is a good example of why that is important. I hear from certain sources that most of the lease drivers with Swift don't bother to put money into a maintenance account. Or if they do, it's an embarassingly small amount to the point of why bother. Then, when something goes wrong, as it is certain to do at some point, it's all Swift's fault. Or whatever company they are with at the time.

I see it all the time.

I have seen quite a bit of that. My preferred method is to have 2 bank accounts, one being a business account, one being a personal account, what the truck makes goes to the business account direct deposit, then I can transfer funds to the personal account online.

When you separate your funds like that it sure makes life easier.

Especially when you need important things like tires.

    The
Air to air boots and clamps on the turbo side should be changed yearly. The heat from the compressed air makes them hard and brittle.

    Here is another tip
Take a look at that bill for the EGR cooler. At some point in time your warranty will be over and that cost will be out of pocket. Until you take the time and what it cost to delete the EGR from your ECM and do away with that cooler altogether it will go out again, and again, and again.
I'm surprised the turbo hasn't went yet.

I wasn't going to make my Laredo appointment so they had me swap in Little Rock. Actually it wasn't much of a swap since the other driver didn't have a trailer. Then they sended me to west memphis and deliver in TN.

Now I'm still in TN. 7 miles away from the customer and I'm out of hours on my 70. Oh the perils of ELogs....

Dont call the customer and tell them that.:biggrin_25524::biggrin_25523:

Better yet call the customer and tell them that.....maybe the threat of loosing an account over your company's use of e-logs and you being 7 miles away, may help end the stupidity of it.:biggrin_25514:

Still in Laredo. Looks like the paperwork may be delayed, so this may turn into a 34, which is fine.

I looked up BFE in the dictionary; it had a picture of where I'm at: Last Chance, CO.
