Because all they see is $600/.93= only 645 miles. They believe that they can make their truck payment in less then one days running.

The problem here is not just that the lease drivers have dollars in their eyes.

TransAM seems to push 100% toward them becoming lease drivers.

They appear to be shifting the burden totally to the drivers and reaping the benefits.

If I understand this correctly the driver just finished training-to learn to drive the truck- and already wants to buy one ?

    No.

Transam pushes the lease like CRE and others. It is their goal to make all new people lease owners and make them absorb operating costs.

Well, I have to agree with others here then that certainly was a blessing in disguise for that driver. I think there's probably better options out there anyways for a brand new driver. I see the draw for that type of situation. The first year of driving is rough. If you can make more $ the first year in that type of situation then I can see why one would want to do it. But I got out at the first year mark cause I couldn't get decent miles. I'm certainly glad I didn't have to worry about a lease in making my decision.

    They read stuff like this.....

WOW $138,000 a year! They don't realize fuel will eat about $90,000, The POS truck "rental" will cost you about $40,000. So that leaves you about $18,000 and of course you still have to pay tax on that and then don't forget the stupid crap Trans-Am will nickel dime out of you.

    grizzly and chalupa Thank this.
