There's alot of them. I wouldn't mind a set up like that if the company paid.

I've actually got a Freightliner sittin in the back of my hotels parking lot this morning. I'm a Chief Engineer at a hotel. I think the driver is just chilled out in the sleeper. I'm in the middle of an industrial park so there's alot of truck traffic and I just figured since he's bobtailin he's probably waitin on a load. He was courtious enough to park in the back so I'm just leavin him alone.

It's a royal pain trying to deal with 95F weather and 85% humidity in a "no idle" truck.

    Everett Thanks this.

There's a shopping complex not far from the house anchored by Home Depot. I've seen trucks parked up in there as well as a Quality Inn where trucks park (day cab types) overnight. So I called QI to ask if I could park there for hometime, she said only $10 bucks a night. When I got there to pay for the parking, the manager told me no go.

But yes I splurged on a hotel for a couple days with my dog, we were in Arizona doing a double 34.

Of course we do;but everyone is different, some will get a room every re-set,whether the company pays or not;my limit when I was out indefinitely was 3 weeks= motel room for a night, other's,well, they LIVE in the truck..really...they do.:biggrin_2556:

I used to do it a lot more than I do now. A couple of years back while I was sleeping in the motel, one of the locals broke into my truck and took everything of value.
I have a hard time walking away from my truck for even a short time now.

You can make the bed comfortable I layered my husband bed with a 4 inch memory foam mattress pad and the thickest down comporter on top of that then a fitted sheet if done right is the best bed ever... my husband actually hooked up his WII in his truck also that way he can play games on his down time

Look at what I do if i am gonna be down all day or more that 12hrs and the temp is way too hot or way too cold and you dont have a APU. If you add up how much fuel you will burn in that time frame and add another 10$ for a shower cause your in a area where you have no credits and that fuel stop and the motel 6 knights inn holiday inn etc: is only 29 is some areas GA/TN/NFL/AL/TX its cheaper and more comfortable and the fuel you save, say ten gallons will get you further down the road. I do it all the time and its a tax write off. BUT ALSO I AM NOT A COMPANY DRIVER IT SAVE ME MONEY ON THE WEAR AND TEAR OF MY 6YR OLD BABY
