    Greetings

Things have hit a brick wall for me. I left home and managed a 2450 mile week, than last week, because of the holiday I managed a whopping 2150 mile week. Then I have to get another steer tire put on because Indy apparently wasn't able or willing to do an alignment last month when I wrote it up. So, the closest terminal was Marietta. I was told that because they don't do orientations here anymore like they use to, the wait to get in the shop is much less since they don't have all the new driver's trucks to repair before they stick them with another poj. I not only had alignment issues (I get 20,000 miles per steer tire before it's so bald on the outside that it wouldn't pass a d.o.t. inspection), but I have that 'startup beep' issue still with my APU, I have the same intermittent short in my front turn signal, and my passenger side mirror has started to shake so bad(because of the alignment) I can barely see what color the vehicle is on the passenger side (on the rare occasion I am out of the right lane)...well, I sat there in the Marietta drivers lounge almost all day Friday, and it's noon Saturday and I have had the grand total of nothing done. They got it in, couldn't find the problem with the APU, even though I got it to act up twice after they went home, and twice before they came in the next morning...they couldn't find the short in my lights/turn signal, couldn't find anything wrong with my mirror....and the alignment machine died...after they swore to my terminal manager that I would be out of here fixed by noon on Saturday...So all I'm going to get is another set of new tires and instructions to get into another shop to see if they can get the alignment. Needless to say, the Snackbar campground is once again a place you don't want to be. Not to mention that I had another one of their useless pos trailers, with new(properly inflated)may-pop's blow a tire and rip the mudflap and improperly welded replacement bracket off. Then sit 3 hours to get my spare mounted, then had to route to a close shop that could weld on a new bracket. So I'm expecting a call from safety about having to take a trip to the Defensive Driving Class...which will, once again, set the beechmobile in motion. Deland had to deal with my bombardment of messages about this visit to Marietta, and my overall feelings about the continuous pieces of junk (including the new trucks) that we are asked to sit in (since they don't stay running long enough to drive, we just sit in until the tow truck or shop comes and get's 'em) In all my years, I have never has so many issues with equipment. The last truck I owned before I came to Crete had over 800k, and broke down less or had less issues to repair.

    Super,

Sorry for your troubles ... but then it seems to be this way everywhere. I suppose that's what happens when we stop building things by hand with nuts, bolts and washers and start spot welding and gluing with robotic equipment. :biggrin_2556:

Companies are always worried about the bottom line first ... and the employee last (after patching cracks in the yard pavement (if there is any) and we all know how often that happens). I hope things get better for you soon ... with Evertruckerr gone, you and Red are all we've got. :biggrin_25514:

Here is one idea ... maybe if you make a big enough stink they'll at least let you pick out a new (poj) truck sometime. Good luck.:biggrin_25523:

If it makes you feel any better, I'm having alignment and steer tire wear issues myself. I suspect kingpins as the culprit. Taking it to McGlohon Spring Shop in Chattanooga when I get home in a week, telling them "make it right no matter what it is or what it takes", and giving them money until they say "enough". McGlohon's is a shop that only deals with medium and heavy duty trucks, and only works on suspension and steering. They even make custom springs and such (hence the name). If they can't fix it, it can't be fixed.

I'll be done with school in a few weeks, and was looking into crete. This thread has been most helpful. I've read more positive than negative things. I meet all of their requirements, and they are at the top of my list. I live in Georgia, and both terminals are about 2 1/2 hours away from me. Is this going to end up being a pain in the butt if I decide to drive for them?

Apparently there is at least one happy customer. General Mills likes us. Least that is what the qualcom said. First time I have seen positive feed back. I like it.:biggrin_25523:

I was born:biggrin_2559:... My family name is/has been cursed for generations.

Well, I finally got the alignment. It was like pulling hen's teeth, and involved getting my terminal manager involved. After I got empty in northern MS, they ran me to Memphis for another same day delivery to a suburb of St Louis. Then I reminded them of the urgent orders of the Marietta shop to get an alignment...op's answer, a 2 stop Bud-dummer load that finaled out on Staten Island, NY...I didn't know we opened a terminal there...perhaps my q/comm missed that message. After telling them no, and again reminding them that Marietta insisted I get an alignment done ASAP at another company shop(because their machine was down) I get a 2 stop Bud-dummer load to south FL, and a message that they will get me back to Marietta for service......Ummmmmmm, hello....tap-tap-tap.....is this thing on?...Marietta's machine is broken....they can't do it there....duhhhhhhhhhh! Then someone else in the brain trust department of high command told me to just take the load and worry about the repairs later.....okey dokey, it's your butt. A set of new steer tires are in the $3-400 ea price range...I'm sure they'll appreciate tearing up another new set.(how many loads does it take to offset $700 in tires anyway) so my messages to my terminal manager start. So, after I finaled out in Ft Lauderdale, they deadheaded me back to Deland. Even that shop couldn't find out what's up w/the APU. But I did get an alignment and 4 new may-pop drive tires...and a free lunch courtesy of my terminal manager. Being her favorite trouble maker has it's perks I guess.

So, since leaving home that's a 2498 mile week, a 2140 mile week(breakdown), and a 2157 mile week (with an extra stop). Now I delivered a load out of Palatka to Zanesville OH on Sunday morning, only to get an offer that doesn't pu until 2300 in Hebron, OH that doesn't deliver (live unload) at the Hunt's plant in Newport TN at 2300 Monday night (and not allowed to drop it there early and let the Crete's spotters handle it). So, that's 2.5 days(counting the waiting on pu and del, plus a break after del) for 470 miles. Whooooo boy, I'm in the money ladada-dada-daaah

And I got that msg about Gen Mills loving us.....that means.................uhmmmmm, ????l. The reason they like us, we probably don't get irate dispatchers calling them when we have to sit for days at warehouses like un-Social Circle waiting for them to get around to loading our drop trailers, that were already suppose to be loaded and ready.

That general mills message went out to numerous fleets. I laughed when I read it.
