I would not go with the Century. The Classics I have driven rode rough and had very poor rearward visibility. That being said, if you find a Classic with a 12.7 Detroit S-60, 13 speed, and 3.58 rears, and drive it reasonably, you'll be pleased with the fuel mileage and maintenance costs.
With either truck, you'll find poor resale value.

As long as you aren't planning on buying one anytime soon.
What is your favorite truck to drive so far?
Lots of things to consider when buying a truck. Comfort, fuel economy, weight (if your hauling reefer you want a light truck), maneuverability, cost, maintenance, price, etc...
Are you driving company now? Maybe ask to switch trucks or ask another driver to let you maybe drive or check out theirs.
If you are longing to become an O.O in the next couple years start now in learning how to become a successful one. OOIDA website has a lot of good material and also links that you can check out that will be a wealth of info. I also recommend DAVE RAMSEY. Follow his advice and program and you too can retire early. Finally, save as much money as you can starting this second! You want to have at the very least $20,000 in the bank AFTER YOU BUY YOUR TRUCK!
Good luck man, get your study on!

Why shouldnt i go with the century?
-
Hi, my century i really like like it, had real good turning raduis backing up , only thing was it was a light weight truck, nice and comfy going down the road, however the fltd is the workhorse of freightshaker , nice heavy, made too pull, not made for comfort, plenty power at the drives, and you have that old school look too,

To me it looks like an Indian chief with a warbonnet. I like the look of the Classic XL.

Would the century not be a good truck to look into because of the lack of pull? I was thinking the mid roof so i may be too light of a truck i hear.
