Caldwell,OH Had an eventful day today. Got to my delivery early and was backed in even before they showed up. Then a couple hours into unloading they tell me to come take a look at the water damaged pallets. I was hauling building insulation so water is bad, turns into mold if they use it. So contact OS&D take some pictures and get sent to get the trailer repaired. Not much I can do, was preloaded sealed trailer so no way of knowing about the leak when i picked it up, no big hole or anything so not surprised the shipper didn't notice either.

This leaves me way behind on picking up next load as far as plus one is concerned but I think I was still within the cust window. Look at mac 23 directions to the place where it takes a whole page to describe the one and only way to back a 53' trailer into the place, all kinds of parked cars, traffic and power poles to get in the way. By the time I leave school is getting out so going through these little towns in WV is a mess, very little room for error going down some of these little streets. Finally make it back to I70 and then a little south on 77 but am low on hours so park it. 480 miles to run tomorrow down to SC including one of my favorites, the hillbilly turnpike. Only have 12k in back so should make decent time even with the grades.

Ontario Ca. About 400 miles from home. Got 2 preplans taking me close to home yesterday, 1 put me in town late Tuesday night, no thanks, and the other was hustle hustle hurry high stress drive all night type thing, no thanks. Today they send me another one going 2 stops in Lost Angeles area then Bay Area for final. Nope, too much work, I'm so ready for a break.Funny thing was, when I turned it down they immediately blasted me 2 messages, 1 showing macro 30, it was the only load available for the entire LA area lol and the second was 'you need to give a reason for turning this down', not the computer generated response either-- written by a DM or planner. When I emptied out I set my PTA 7 days in advance, the qc finally #### lol. Waiting for my 10 now and will deadhead home on my own dime. Will be putting truck in shop in the morning then relax the rest of the day and my son and I will bounce 700 miles north to visit the grandparents.

Corfu, NY enrte to Mendota, IL for 10 a.m. Wednesday. Another nice short load, 707 miles with almost 2 days to get there. PU early this afternoon. Oh well, it is the holiday. Received a fleet msg from our DM's this morning, and the one line that had me laughing so hard, The loads that you (the fleet) are getting are loads that are in your best interest so that you can be successfull. Let me see, 400 miles for 2 days, 1050 miles for 2.5 days(that one from Mac 30) and this one, from the planners. I do so much better on Mac 30. But at least, got me outta NY

Because, for many, it's a PITA to get back out of there.

I have yet to have a long wait to get out of Texas. Not saying it doesn't happen, just have not had it happen to me. Honestly have never waited long for a load, but we shall see what happens now that slow season is approaching.
