Phoenix, enjoying the sunshine. I wanna get my alum polished to have it in better shape come March for the truck show but with winter fast coming it will be a waste of money.

Not shedding any tears, although i'm going to miss W/S.
I'm headed To Lone Star Transportation. And Happy Birthday!
(now go get yourself a AARP Card)
American Trucker48Packard and volvodriver01 Thank this. -
I'm home and UNemployed...for a few days
American Trucker -
Even before I hit 50 last year, AARP was bombarding my mailbox with their stuff....I probably get anywhere from 3 to 6 mailings from them every week!
Hey....Good luck in your new gig! Why the switch, if I can inquire?American-Trucker Thanks this. -
se habla espanol?
You'll be seeing alot of Laredo.
volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
Thanks,
Well for a few reasons;
1) I'm not a big fan of LTL, (to many idiots to deal with every day)
2) .42cpm (.10cpm Raise)
3) Shiny New(ish) peterbilt
4) 18spds
5) Home every 4 weeks (i could be home weekends with W/S but i would take a big paycut being home that often at .32cpm)
6) Take the truck home (with W/S i was doing a 140 miles round trip in my pickup)
7) I want to try Flatbedding
I speak, YOU speak English or you aint getting my money or my time
. Last time i checked there wasnt any snow/ice/mountains or chain laws in Laredo so i think i'll like it there
American Trucker -
So, you'll find out first hand than an 18 is no more useful on a standard permitted (80K) highway truck than a 13.
I strongly suggest you make friends with BlackW900 and 07-379Pete. Between the two of them, there is more than 60 years of experience and they are both 'bedders.
(Add) Hanadarko would be another one to be nice to. And Les2.volvodriver01 Thanks this. -
i've driven 13/18spd's before, and compared to my 10spd, anything is better. And Lone Star is a Specialized/Heavy Haul company, i'm only going to be restricted to legal loads for the first 6 months
American Truckervolvodriver01 Thanks this. -
It never hurts to have resources like those I named. When you're just starting out, it's a real b**** to learn things the hard way. Much smarter to draw from the kind of experience available on these forums.
Heck, I'm not even a flatbedder, but I listen to what they say. Why should I repeat a mistake they already made if they can show me how to avoid it in the first place?
