How about a thread on reefer only companies. Canada or US companies, good / bad, pros / cons.
I have seen some really nice looking stainless sided spread axle reefer trailers coming into canada lately, they have a blue colour on the non stainless parts. I havent seen any company markings on the trailers though.Does anyone know what company they are?
Also how bout good/bad refrigerated shippers?
Best place I picked up at was del monte galveston every second week, they were allways good if you were nice to the lady at the sign in window, god help the driver that wasnt!
Worst was Delivering to Loblaws in Calgary, just a total #### fight!
Good reefer companies.

I will add a couple of reefer companies i know of that are good in canada. I have spoken with drivers from these companies at alot of shippers / recievers and allways heard good things:
Trappers transport
Turk enterprises
Agritel transportation
All three of these I have only ever heard good things. -
Sounds like Western Distributing. Their equipment is SWEEEET!!JERRYY and kw9's rock Thank this.

That girl at Del Monte is HOT but she has a bad attitude. I used her window for a desk the first time I went there. I thought she was going to execute me! All in all Del Monte is pretty good though.

Oh yeah, she doesnt like that! When was the last time you were there? Have they finished the dock constuction? The only time i got held up there was when the ship was late with the containers. The big guy who does the escorting to the loading dock seems like a bit of a hard ### but he is actually a nice guy once you deal with him a couple of times. The first time i went there i didnt know about the 75 dollar fee if no TWIC card, he actually went into the yard and found a driver with a comcheck for me to use. The lady in the toyota that checks you once you park and the guy who allocates your dock are both really nice and i have got caught up chatting to them for a while. Ask the lady how her trip to alaska for her birthday was next time you see her, she likes to have a chat as well.JERRYY Thanks this.

I haven't been there in a couple months but I did load out of the new dock doors last time I was there. That $75 TWIC escort is a joke. If I could get my foot in the door doing that racket I'd sell my trucks in a minute and make alot more money. $75 for a 50 yard escort!!

They have very high rates if you can get them to pay percentage. As for working as a company driver...I never would consider them. Many of their drivers are worthless, equipment is abused and unfixed, and from what I hear dispatch is pretty bad too. The company I am leased to has had customers switch to FFE looking for a cheaper rate only to return to us because FFE drivers and service just stinks.trucker43 and biker dave Thank this.

yes, thats why i keep looking at millis transfer, but runs are short, very good equiment, mostly kenworths but no owner-ops, great hometime, may i ask what company your'll leased to and how many company trucks they may have if any, plan on getting back into this april after bikeweek, thanks
