Woke up around midnite to finish my trip to discover one of my mudflaps was about ripped in half. So I bought a new one for about $15 bucks, they wanted to charge me $20 bucks to cut it and drill holes in it and mount it.
I told him I had a knife. He laughed and said 'you can't cut that hard plastic with any knife.'
Well, you can see it looks like a pro install, used my razor knife and a hammer/screwdriver to 'drill' out the holes lol.
Eagle Prostar all burned up presumably a poor inverter wire job. Hope the driver(s) got out OK.Attached Files:

scottied67,
were you harrassed about not taking an empty with you? the pod was giving me all kinds of grief when i told them i was b/t home. "you have to take an mt when you leave a planning area or else we'll make you bobtail back there to get a load" they kept saying to me. they even sent out a fleet message to that effect about an hour after i left laredo. not the first time they've sprung a new "policy" on me when i try to take it by the horns.
laredo yesterday, las cruces last night, san diego tonight.fr8monkey Thanks this. -
Could be a country, rodeo cowboy song in there...

When I first started as a lease operator and happened to be trying to get home, I was in Sparks terminal with an empty and made a comment to my DM that I would probably just come down the hill empty, she said I cannot just take company assets anywhere I please, although if I chose I could bobtail anywhere.
I've relocated many times after that albeit usually short distances back to a nearby terminal with an empty trailer and gotten paid empty miles.
I tried it again with an empty from Los Angeles to Lathrop recently for Thanksgiving and was denied empty pay. That is why I didn't try to take an empty this time. Besides that, mine was a drop in Laredo, there is no way they would let me out the gate with an empty and no preplan.
Another interesting note, when I did my empty call, it beeped, but I didn't read it-- just assumed it would say Emtpy Call Received and Updated. It did not, said Stay at Location, Order Set as Live Unload. Bear in mind I read this message a couple hundred miles away and sent a message right away asking them to fix my empty call. It was not fixed until well into the next day and they wanted to know who told me it was a drop lol like I'm going to argue with the consignee to tell them their business. This was a Mexico bound load in a brand new blinged out Swift trailer, maybe they meant for it to be transloaded, I don't know.
All your pod has to do is 'relocate' you to where you're going to be for planning purposes. I talked to my DM this morning, she asked kinda shockingly, 'what are you doing here?' -- as in the LA planning area as opposed to Laredo. So she sent me a route plan from Laredo to home with fuel stops and everything lol then reminded me that these are what Swift calls 'Unauthorized' miles. To me there is nothing unauthorized about it when I'm bobtailing including if I want to drive 25 hours a day.hunnerbunner Thanks this. -
There is still some automotive running in the Industrial park on the west side. I miss going to Arlene's over there, been a long while since I have been west of Marshall.
