Beautiful ride from Monticello UT through Cortez and Shiprock this morning. Feeling good about my choice of routing until I hit I40 this afternoon. Crud's been gettin' worse all day, 4-wheelers spinnin' out of control right and left, had one blocking the road spinnin' its tires for awhile. About the time my windshield decided it was time to make like a deep freezer, decided to call it a day. TA at Moriarity. They decided to shutdown eastbound I40 whilst I was gettin' some dinner.

 

I'm in Mcloud, OK. at the Grand Casino...Moriarty was nice this morning when I had breakfast there.

Looks like I got out just in time to miss all the fun!

 

Yes you did! It certainly was a great morning... big blue sky all around. Then came this afternoon.

 

AWWW IP....I really feel bad for you....and to think I will be going over Donner tonight....stars in the sky, dry roads....a little chilly, Tahoe is forecasting 14 for a low tonight!

 

Only time I ever had an occasion to be on 40 West of OKC it was shut down for high wind. Rough piece of road out that way!
