Usa truck pays shortest miles Zipcode to zipcode not practical or actual miles.

Practical would be better, More money. actual miles is the best. but practical would do.

not many companies pay actual miles.

The way I understand it most companies pay from zip code to zip code, and pay starts from city limits and ends at destination city limits. This means if say you get loaded in Dallas Texas somewhere on the west side and go east to say Baltimore Md on the east side you will cross 2 major metro area's and not get paid a dime for it. This is somewhere around 35 to 40 miles you are not getting paid for.

Most BFI's may pay HHG miles but the better carriers pay practical . I wouldn't say "most" carriers pay HHG . Most experienced drivers are too smart to accept it .
Newbies with the "Any job is better than no job " attitude happily accept HHG pay . Any miles are better than no miles .

Nevermind. We are supposed to be getting Rand Mcnally practical miles. Yes, they did say so.

They bought 6% of the company. Was rebuffed by USA Truck management. That's the latest news that I am aware of.

USA already uses RandMcnally miles(that's what they told me when I was in orientation back in Feb...supposedly...But they are still less than anything you look up personally, and are not practical, but shortest route.
