Nice threat-- may charge for installation lol. One driver told me they had his truck in there 3 hours installing. I think the shop rate is $85 bucks an hour times 2 techs working on it. Can I get a kiss and hug too?
-
Plus one the way we can do it.
-
I got lucky was in the shop for b sevice and dpf problem. And ask so I guess Iam going to get the new elogs since I have the old qualcomm the shop nope we out of them I said ahhhh so hopefully I can skate by with out it for a bit
-
I drive legal so I guess that's a plus as to why I like E-logs.
-
Oh I like it too,it is much better to save time as long as I am vigilant about changing my status,I keep reaching for my logbook tho? its weird not to do it I feel like I'n missing something......
-
I log legal 99% of time but as we all know stuff happens. Plus if you was on paper logs and said you log 100% legal all the time. I would call you a liar to your face. when I was going home there was just awful traffic. On 49 heading south to hattiesburg ran out of hours about magee, MS about 32 miles from house yep ill just park there for the night wait 10+ hours and then go home....yep right hell if I was on elogs I still would have went home

As a newbie, I really hope that they get these E logs worked out by the time I start my solo runs. Sounds like they are still trying to catch up to the technology.
You can have the best software on paper, but it is only as productive as the people who program it. -
You would? You know me that well?
Not really. At least not for me. Seems to be working great.solarbronco Thanks this. -
I had almost exactly this happen to me and did exactly what you said you would have done. No one has said a word to me about it so far and if they do too bad. On the kiosk it says no violations logged. I guess if DOT wanted to look at my logs over the next 7 days the could have wrote me a ticket but I was home for 4 of those days anyways and they generally don't want to waste time on elogs when they can more likely find a mistake on someone using paper.
Think of it this way, when (not if) the feds require them for everyone you will be one step ahead of the game because you will know how to use them and take advantage of some of the quirks. There are a lot of companies with a lot of money pushing for these to be required and Congress is considering making it law, not just a rule issued by FMCSA so its really only a matter of time.
